Obit Marnie Lynn BeachamMarnie Lynn Beacham, age 46, passed away at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Nov. 10, 2017. Marnie was born in North Salt Lake, Utah, to Ernest Jeffery and Sharon Beacham on May 7, 1971, their only daughter. Even as a child, Marnie was head strong, determined and precise. She tuned into every tiny detail and was a better bricklayer than her brothers.

Marnie graduated from Grantsville High School with the class of ‘89 as Valedictorian and a Speech and Drama Sterling Scholar. She gave everything she did her all. Marnie was determined she was going to change the world and she did. She was crowned Miss Grantsville 1989, Miss Tooele County 1990 and Miss South Salt Lake 1992. She graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in 1996. She graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Women’s Studies) and a minor in French in 2001.

Marnie specialized in maternity massage, craniosacral therapy, and intuitive bodywork. She loved her clients and helping others heal through massage. Marnie married Kirk Woodruff in the summer of 1994. They later divorced. Marnie welcomed her angel daughter, Madeleine Kate into her world in February 1999 and spent most of her waking moments over the last 18 years, advocating, worrying and providing for her.

Marnie was self-sufficient, building her own house through MountainLands Mutual Self Help Program in Kamas in 2004. Marnie loved to travel and she loved learning. She was always expanding her skill set. She attained her Real Estate License in 2012 and she worked as a Child Development Specialist for DDI Vantage from 2014-15. Marnie spent a lot of her time campaigning for members of the special needs community and envisioned creating a non-profit to serve them.

Marnie was kind, she was beautiful, and she had an appreciation for the arts, antiques, thrift shops, and good food. Marnie greeted everyone she met with her gorgeous smile and an authentic hug. She had a flair for cultivating life-long friendships and was an expert at expressing her love for others. She had an independent nature that she instilled in her daughter. We are going to miss her compelling presence and magnetic personality.

Marnie is survived by her daughter Maddie; her parents; brother Ty Bateman (Jodi); brother Matt Machon; brother Ernest Frank Beacham (Shawndi); sister-in-law Phoebe Beacham; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Crystal, TJ, Jade, Logan, Garrett, Kenadi, Bridger, Cabbi, Walter, Madison, Emmett, Sicaly, Fay, and Brystal. Donald Joseph Stoddard

Obit Donald Joseph StoddardOn Friday morning, Nov. 10, 2017, our insatiably curious, impossibly forgetful, eternally hopeful, unspeakably impatient, profoundly pensive, tenaciously determined, and painfully brave husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend, Donald Joseph Stoddard (Joe), laid his burdens down and quietly, with no pomp or circumstance, took his bright soul and went Home.

Joe was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Fresno, California. His father, Chellous Stoddard, was a rough neck laborer with strong callous hands, a keen mind and an infectious curiosity. His fiercely devoted mother, Zelda (Whittle) Stoddard, made a good home for her small family of three.

The family, in January 1941, welcomed Joe’s kid sister Barbara (Stoddard) Madsen, his lifelong champion. They moved around over the years, ending up in Ashland, Oregon, when Joe was a junior in high school. It was there that Joe met the brunette beauty, Marcia Macklin. Joe frequented the Macklin home there in Ashland because he had an unquenchable fondness for … pie. Seriously, it was all about the pie. We aren’t kidding, so nothing to see here folks, move along. Joe was all about Mrs. Macklin’s blackberry pie.

But, after completing an LDS mission, Joe returned to the Y where he began to court Marcia. That’s right folks, that Marcia of the aforementioned Ashland Pie Palace, so it was about more than the pies. They were married in the Los Angeles Temple on Sept. 15, 1959.

While a poor college couple living on beans and no blueberry pies, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Shawna. They were either unsure of what had caused her arrival or considered her a “practice pancake,” determining they could do much better because exactly one year to the day later, they welcomed their first son, Mack (Keri Jergensen).

Six years after Mack, they welcomed another son, Chell (Pamela Palmer) and four years after that, Daniel (Andrea Memory).

Joe loved to learn, to see more, understand more and was at peace with the dichotomy that, with the more he learned, the less he really knew. He remained undaunted by all the challenges he faced, be it a nearly 10-year battle with cancer, patents he desperately wished to finish, financial setbacks, the wounds of humanity both given and received, and nearly always unintended, because every challenge was an opportunity for a solution to rise up. The rise thrilled him so he remained happy throughout his life.

Most likely because Joe Stoddard loved his Father in Heaven and tried very hard to please Him, now he rises-up to meet Him. Joe was met by his father, mother, grandparents, in-laws, outlaws, family, friends, a pack of dogs, maybe one or two cats and who knows — a fresh baked blackberry pie.

Because he loved math, he is survived by: one wife, four children, 15 grandchildren, one sister, two brothers-in-law, two nieces, two nephews and one dog. Twenty-seven souls with immeasurable love and infinite gratitude have had him in their lives.

Funeral services will be held Nov. 20, 2017, at the Lakeview Ward Building, 2032 Churchwood Drive, Tooele, Utah. The viewing will take place prior to the services from 9:30–10:30 a.m.

Obit Ochella Kitty BridgesOchella (Klella, Kitty) Bridges passed peacefully on Nov. 25, 2017. Kitty was born June 2, 1920, in Escalante, Utah, to Clarence Eugene and Grace Tanner. She was a tomboy from the beginning, herding sheep for her father at age 10, working as the secretary of the Sunday School at 13, and leaving home to help support the family at 18. She was a favorite of her grandparents and loved spending time with them and teasing her sisters.

Kitty hated the name Ochella, so she used Klella; if she really liked you, you could call her Kitty. She married William Rex Bridges on July 15, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Feb. 3, 1958. She celebrated both dates, requiring Dad to buy her anniversary presents twice each year. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Marilyn (David) Gillette; her son, Greig (Annette) Bridges; baby brother, Clyde (Karen) Tanner; as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The sadness of our loss is softened by the reunion we know she had with Dad after 11 years of separation. Thank the Good Lord for eternal marriage.

Obit Marc V. TaylorThe most amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Marc V. Taylor, passed away suddenly on Nov. 24, 2017, of a massive heart attack.

Marc was born June 27, 1969, and is the son of Jay and Eileen Taylor. He was raised in Peterson, Utah, and was always a bright light for everyone around him. He loved spending time with his dad 4-wheeling and anything outdoors. His love for music started at an early age and he participated in the marching band while attending Morgan High.

After high school, he served an LDS Mission in West Virginia. On Sept. 13, 1997, he married the love of his life, Shelly L. Barnes. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and together raised three incredible children. Marc’s family was always his focus and greatest source of joy. For most of Marc’s married life, he has lived in Tooele, Utah. His love for life and people quickly made him a significant part of this community. He worked as the IT Director at Mountain West Medical Center and was currently working in IT Management at Dugway Proving Ground.

Although Marc loved computers, his biggest passion was music. He owned his own DJ company and loved helping to create the perfect party or special day. He served on the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce, was part of the county’s emergency planning and management committee, and was involved in many other aspects of the community. He was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immersed himself in his church callings. He worked with the Boy Scouts, was a member of the Stake High Council, and the Young Men’s organization. Marc loved youth, especially his young men. He was and will continue to be a tremendous influence in each of their lives. He always saw the greatness in everyone and made sure they knew it. Marc loved everyone he met. To know Marc was to be Marc’s friend. He never stopped serving those around him and while most of us might feel he sacrificed his time and services, it didn’t feel like that to him. He did it out of love.

Marc lived every day to the fullest. He was larger than life. He loved biking, scuba diving, hiking, and traveling with his family. He most recently developed a love and passion for running and helping coach his daughter’s softball team.

Marc is survived by his sweet wife, Shelly, and their three children: Dylan, Rylan and Kylee Taylor; his father Jay Taylor; and brother Mike Taylor.
