She attended Brigham Young University and went on a mission to Guatemala. She married Edward L. Eisenbrandt on Nov. 26, 1956, and they had seven children. They later divorced. She married Charles R. Bullard in 2005.

Shirley cherished playing games and interacting with her children. She was instrumental in starting the “Bobby Sox” softball program in Tooele and coached for many years. She loved to sing, had a beautiful soprano voice and led the choir of her church.

Shirley moved to Massachusetts in the early 1980s where she drove a school bus. She often spoke of how much she enjoyed being around the kids on her routes. She later moved to California where she continued her driving career until she retired. She then toured the country in a truck and 5th wheel trailer until settling down in Grants Pass, Oregon, where she spent many years as a park hostess. She became the leader of a senior volunteer singing group, The Serenader’s, who performed wonderful music to many people.

Shirley had the type of personality that would fit into any crowd and loved interacting with people.

Robyn Ann White Bauder Cavaness

Obit Robyn Ann White Bauder CavanessRobyn Ann White Bauder Cavaness passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Bozeman, Montana, on Dec. 7, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer. Robyn was born to Marion Floyd White and Beverly Jean Larson White in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 22, 1953. She was raised in Tooele, Utah, and later attended school at Utah State University and North Dakota State University. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Development from Utah State in 1974.

Robyn married James Warren Bauder on June 30, 1973, in Tooele, and together they brought into the world four children. While they ultimately parted ways in marriage, they saw eye-to-eye in raising their four children (Holly, Warren, Logan and Lindsey) together. Robyn later married Michael Allen Cavaness on March 12, 2001, on a sunny beach in Mazatlán, Mexico. Robyn and Mike’s union expanded the sphere of her children to include Mike’s two sons (Zac and Matt). Robyn’s capacity to nurture and raise her children and her 13 grandchildren was limitless.

After 12 years raising her own children alongside countless friends’ and neighbors’ children in her in-home daycare business, Robyn branched out and applied her gift at the ASMSU Preschool for 27 years. She touched the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of children in their formidable years of learning. Many of those children remained in contact with Miss Robyn throughout her life and she never forgot a face.

Robyn and Mike enjoyed many wilderness adventures together. Their active lifestyle allowed them to venture far and wide, from the Alaskan arctic to the tropics of South America. As “first rate, second mates,” they were capable and comfortable embarking on trips relying only upon themselves but also enjoyed sharing their exploits with life-long friends. Robyn was equally at home reading a book on the beach or bundled in rain gear battling the elements miles from civilization.

Robyn’s talent with children was only surpassed by her skills in the kitchen. Whether it was baking cinnamon rolls with grandchildren, making cookies for neighbors or simply getting dinner on the table, her recipes were the envy of all. Arguably, her greatest joy was working in the kitchen alongside her children, grandchildren, sisters and friends. She also had the ability to take every opportunity to create a tradition and set the bar high.

We will forever be trying to live up to the expectations she set for Easter egg hunts, Gingerbread house decorating, Christmas Eve extravaganzas, birthday cake themes, or any special occasion that warranted party planning. She always took it to the nth degree. She made sure you felt loved and special every chance she had.

Robyn’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Holly Orrell (Sheridan), Warren Bauder (Gretchen), Logan Bauder (Katie Nunn), and Lindsey Bauder (Hunter Walker); stepsons, Zac Cavaness and Matt Cavaness; sisters, Susie Morris (John) and Wendy McCleery (Dave); brother, Douglas White (Carolyn); mother, Beverly White; numerous nieces and nephews and their children; and her grandchildren, Madeline, Garrett, Levi, Claire, Reese, Drew, Charlie Bell, Zoie, Logan, Carter, Trevor, Sonia Jane and Alicia. She was preceded in death by her brother, David White, and her father, Floyd White.

A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bozeman, on Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. with visitation that morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow on Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Tooele City Cemetery in Tooele, Utah, followed by an open house luncheon at the Tooele LDS Church.  Memorials to benefit parks, recreation and children in her honor can be made to the charity of your choice or the Robyn Ann Cavaness Memorial Account at First Security Bank – Montana.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. www.dokkennelson.com.

Obit Margaret Faulkner Woody 2Margaret Faulkner Woody passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.

Obit Margaret Faulkner Woody 1Margaret was born on June 7, 1932, to William and Bernece Larsen Faulkner. She spent the majority of her childhood in the beautiful river bottoms of Orem, Utah, with her two older sisters and two younger brothers, beloved friends and cousins. She always grieved the loss of her youngest brother, Arthur, who died in infancy.

Margaret was incredibly smart and not only graduated from Lincoln High School when she was 16 years old, but also had earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Brigham Young University by the time she was 20. She was an avid reader and never tired of learning, but mostly loved devouring, cover-to-cover, a good murder mystery. She passed this love of the written word onto her children, which was just one of her many gifts to them. She was the most nurturing and loving mother that her children could ever have had.

Margaret was a strong, independent young woman who traveled after college and did not conform to the convention of her time. After returning home to Utah, she began working at Dugway Proving Ground, where she met and fell in love with a handsome chemist, who soon became the love of her life. She married the “smartest, most handsome man she’d ever met,” James McRobert Woody on Sept. 1, 1961, and they started their small family of three children at base housing at Dugway. In October 1972, they found their dream home in the small town of Rush Valley where they raised their family and lived happily for the next 37 years. She was an active member of the Rush Valley Ward, where she served in many positions, including the Primary Presidency. Her faith in the gospel was unwavering and her testimony strong up to her last breath.

After retiring from Dugway, Margaret showed her bravery and savvy business sense yet again, and opened a successful business in Tooele, which she ran for over 15 years.

Words cannot describe the loss we feel. Mom was an inspiration, who kept moving forward though plagued with great loss and severe health problems. We’re so happy for her to have finally been able to “graduate.” The pain of losing two children was more than she should have ever had to bear. She is survived by her sister, Jackie; brother, Nick; daughter, Dona; grandchildren, Jessica, Madison, Chris, Alex, Stephanie and Andrew; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved siblings, Diane, Bill, and Arthur; her husband, Jim; and her sons, Mark and Robert.

Services will be held at the Rush Valley Ward on Dec. 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation of your choosing.
