Jerry Lee Wiseman, 69, passed away surrounded by his family in his home the night of Dec. 10, 2020, from cancer.
Jerry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Aug. 9, 1951, to Donald Thomas Wiseman and Reva Stewart. He married Laurel Elise (Lauri) Smith on Sept. 4, 1976, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Jerry was a humble man and did not want his achievements, awards, and church positions listed, which were many, but just wanted to be remembered for his great love for his family, friends and neighbors, and especially for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His desire was to serve them in any way. Many random strangers also benefitted from his kindness.
Jerry loved spending time with his family in the outdoors, camping and gardening, and always had multiple projects going. His love for huge machinery led him to become a diesel mechanic by trade, and he enjoyed construction of all kinds. He would build, fix, invent, and Jerry-rig with the piles of parts and pieces out back in his world of “Jerryville.” He loved woodworking and buckets. He adored his tractors!
He is survived by his sweet wife Lauri; his five daughters Tonia Pearson, Elisa (Brian) Wadsworth, Tara (Matt) Smith, Julia (Chris) Weis, Kerissa (Steve) Taylor; and son Jerry T. (Mindy) Wiseman; 26 grandchildren; almost three great-grandchildren; his mother Reva Peterson; two brothers and a sister. He was proceeded in death by his father and a sister.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at the Erda Stake Center, 1037 W. Erda Way, Erda, Utah. A viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. is open to all who wish to attend. Due to COVID-19, the funeral service is limited in number, but there will be a live broadcast at 11 a.m. at the following link: mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/Events/erdautahstake.
