Ethelyn DeRosa, wonderful wife and mother, passed away Feb. 16, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ethelyn struggled with COPD and was in stage four. She fought this disease for many years.
Sunday, our Lord and Savior took her from her struggle and into his arms. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loves her.
Ethelyn was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Panguitch, Utah, to Robert Burton Shakespeare and Ethel Spencer Shakespeare.
Ethelyn leaves behind her husband Andy DeRosa of 39 years. They were married Jan. 15, 1981. Ethelyn is the mother of six children: Pamula Brunson, Carrie and recently deceased Brad Palmer, Gay Shields, Patty Shields, Kathy Birdzell, and Rusty and Elizabeth Shields, all of Tooele. She was a grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 34.
Ethelyn was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters Milly, Bev, Mary, Barbara and Beth; and two brothers Rex and Rollo; and first husband Ervin Shields.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m., at the Baptist Church, 235 W. Main St., Grantsville, Utah. There will be a luncheon to follow at the church.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Salt Lake Regional Hospital for the respectful and loving care they gave our wife and mother during this time.
