Karl Christensen, 72, from Nevada, passed away on Feb. 28, 2015 at the Highland Manor. Karl was born in Park City, Utah, to Owen and Louise Workman Christensen on July 6, 1942. Karl grew up and attended high school in Tooele, Utah. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at Utah State University. Karl had a great sense of humor that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Karl’s love of sports (boating, golf, wrestling, motorcycles and racquetball) drove him to become a wrestling coach in Ogden. After teaching high school math, he went to work for Hughes Aircraft, where he worked on missile-launching systems for tanks. Afterwards, Karl moved on to work for Eaton Kenway, where he designed and programmed automated warehouses. At the time of his passing, Karl was being cared for at Highland Manor. The family and friends give great thanks for their care. Karl is survived by his wife Patricia; stepchildren Brett (Penny) Cassell, Patrick (Kathy) Cassell and Patrick (Jeneil) Williams; a brother Fred (Karla) Christensen; sisters Virginia Danner and Evelyn Asmus; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Louise Christensen; son Samuel Christensen and daughter Tracy Hofheins. There will be a small graveside gathering followed by a luncheon for friends and family on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Tooele, Utah, at the Tooele City Cemetery.
