Obit Robert Eldon FeuerbachRobert Eldon Feuerbach, our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away in the early morning of March 18, 2019, when that great big heart of his stopped beating.

He was born Aug. 31, 1943, to Eldon Herman Feuerbach and Mavis Joyce Smith in Ballarat Victoria, Australia. He was married to Cheryl Marie Goins on Sept. 3, 1965, and together they had two sons, Robert Michel (Jenny Lynn Warr) and Richard Lyle, who were his best friends. He managed the Chevron in Tooele and worked there since 1971. He could be gruff and intimidating but he was just a big old Teddy Bear. Growled a lot but didn’t bite very often. He was always there when someone needed him no matter what day or time.

He served his country in the United States Air Force until he was medically discharged.

He loved hunting and guns and was happiest in the great outdoors taking in all of God’s splendor or with his granddaughters; Alyssa Warr, Megan (Brenden) Tischner, Makayla Witkowski and Alison Witkowski; and great-grandson, Hayden Tischner. And we can’t forget his special relationship he had with son Rich’s dog, Oly, who would ride with him to the bank when he made deposits and Oly would get treats from the employees at the bank.

He is survived by his wife; sons; grandchildren; and sisters, Ronda Bogart, RaNay Rudie, and Rayna (Tony) Rogerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger; sister, Robyn; and daughter-in-law, Jenny.

As per Robert’s wishes his body has been donated and there will be no formal funeral. Robert will be teaching others for the next six months to two years with his donation. Upon the return of his ashes there will be a memorial service at that time.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask that donations be made to the charity of your personal choosing in Robert’s name, and that when you think of him, do something kind for someone. That will make him smile and make the world a better place.

In his younger years, Jay was named as an honorary Tooele Volunteer Firefighter — a title he held proudly. When there was a fire, Jay arrived quickly on his bike. Oftentimes to the amazement of the fire crews, he beat them to the scene.

Roxie Dobson

Obit Roxie Dobson 1Roxie Johnson Dobson, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully March 31, 2019. She lived to be 91. Obit Roxie Dobson 2Indeed, Roxie was the last of the Erb and Florence Johnson children; the last sibling of that era. All thirty-three grandchildren of Erb and Florence would agree that our family connection provided each of us with the sense of our belonging and purpose that came from our stalwart pioneer heritage. Granddad would say that we come from good stock. Roxie used that saying often referring to her own children and grandchildren.

Roxie and Blaine had four children: John, Jane, Diane and Annette. Our mother loved her children and grandchildren (numbering seventeen) and took great pride in her twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mother was present for every important event with her family including marriages, graduations, baby blessings, baptisms; which amounted to a lot of events. Mother sang at most of these events and she prepared for each like it was major performance — because to her, it was. She graced her family with her gift of singing and playing the piano.

Roxie was beautiful, smart and talented. Music and sharing her singing were central in her life. She sang and accompanied her father, Erb; sang with her sisters and continued giving her gift of song throughout her lifetime. She was asked just how many funerals she had sung for and she recounted if everyone she had sung for his/her funeral were present at her funeral there would be a crowd. Likely there might be that crowd listening in on Saturday as we celebrate her and the many gifts she gave to us.

Family and friends will gather at Tate Mortuary at noon Saturday, April 6. Afterward Roxie’s children are hosting an afternoon brunch at Stansbury Park Clubhouse. Contact gallo800@gmail.com  if you’d like more information.

Ralph Gordon Erickson, 92, passed away on April Fools’ Day, with his loving family by his side.  Ralph was born March 31,1927, in Park City, Utah, to George Emil and Thamszon Cottam Erickson. He attended Park City schools and graduated from Park City High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army from 1946-48. During the Korean conflict, he was called again and served for 13 months in a combat unit.

Ralph married Joyce Murray, also of Park City, on April 20, 1957. They were blessed with a son, Paul. They lived for over 50 years in Tooele, Utah, where they had wonderful neighbors and made many lifelong friends. Ralph was employed by Tooele Army Depot.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ralph served as ward membership clerk in the Tooele 14th Ward for many years. He loved serving as a veil worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ralph was a true fly fisherman! He tied his own flies, built his own rods, and dreamed always of fishing. He loved to wade Kimball Creek as a boy and the Big Hole River as a younger man. During later years, he enjoyed float-tubing in Montana and Wyoming. Ralph and his buddy, Tom Parrish, fished the streams, rivers, and lakes of the mountain west for more than 75 years together.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his only sibling, George Allan (Sachiko) Erickson; and two granddaughters, Melissa and Jennifer Erickson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother-in-law Kent (Sharon) Murray; son, Paul (Stephanie); and three grandchildren, Nicki (Jordan) Gilbert, Matthew (Andrea) Erickson, and Tiffany (Tanner) Peterson. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Hudson, Miles, and Christopher Gilbert; Tate and Elliott Erickson; and Parker Rose Peterson. These grandchildren and the little GREATS held a very special place in their Grandpa’s heart. He very patiently taught them how to whistle and tie their shoes, and he loved taking them for long walks.

Ralph and Joyce have enjoyed living at Legacy House of Bountiful for more than three years. They deeply appreciate the remarkable care received there and from the hospice care providers from Comfort Worx. They say, “Thank You” to the residents, employees, and caregivers who have made this a happy time.

Obit Ronald C. AndersonRonald C Anderson left this world in the early morning of April 6, 2019, after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Crystal (Nash); children, Jennifer, Travis (Elizabeth), Nate (Paige), Curtis (Trevor), Steffanie (Zachary), Zachary (Shyloe), Josh, and Samantha; mother- and father-in-law, Curt and Shawnee Nash; siblings, Marge (Dave), Valene (Dave), Larry (Suzie), Bruce (Julie); brother-in-law, Kelly Nash,; and many, many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ron was the proud grandfather of Brayden, Emmaline, Lexi, Trey, Skylie, Kyrian, Kale, Titan, Temperance, Jade, and Sapphire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence (Andy) and Cleora Anderson, and sister Marilyn. Ron was proud to be a veteran, serving his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He also served a tour as a civil servant in Iraq and Kuwait. Ron’s greatest love was to spend time outdoors landscaping his yard, camping, fishing, and hunting. One of his most favorite things to do was to take his grandchildren camping in the summer and swimming all year round. He was always involved in sporting events, coaching his sons Nate and Zach’s basketball and baseball teams, and after his own kids were grown, was excited to enter the sports arena again, participating with his granddaughter Lexi, perfecting her softball abilities and attending every practice and game. He became the lead adventurer as he, his sons, nephews, and father-in-law braved the elements as they went deer hunting each year, seeing who could bring home the biggest buck. This year he laughed and said his role in the deer hunt this year was to man the camp site, cook the meals, and mind the fire while the younger crew went out to climb the mountains, endure the cold, and find the deer.

Ron will most often be remembered for his acts of kindness and the charity he showed in his everyday life, helping anyone who needed assistance, and serving in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. His acts of kindness will live on with those he has served. He was quite the character and a big tease, and ready to put a smile on the face of anyone needing cheering up. Even during his last days he stilled maintained that sense of humor, making visitors and family members giggle with his dry wit. Being retired, he and Crystal were blessed to spend countless hours together, planning and taking camping trips, helping and playing with the grandchildren, and participating in Ron’s most favorite event: having monthly family nights with their large family. Ron was blessed on this earth with a large and extended family who will remember him always and miss him so much. We love you – our wonderful husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend!

Funeral services will be held April 12, 2019, at the Tooele East Stake Center, 752 N. 520 East, Tooele, Utah, at 1 p.m. A viewing to be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the same location. Interment will directly follow the funeral at the Tooele City Cemetery.

Obit Betty Jean Skinner Johnson 2Ross came to get his favorite dancing partner, the love of his life, Betty Jean Skinner Johnson, who died April 4, 2019. Mom lived a healthy, active life for over 91 years.

Obit Betty Jean Skinner Johnson 1Betty was proud to be born in Bingham, on May 14, 1927. She was the daughter of Vern Morgan and Erma Huntsman Skinner. She moved to Tooele for her senior year of high school where she met Ross. They were married Oct. 6, 1945, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mom had many callings in the church including Stake Relief Society President for 14 years. Ross and Betty served as temple workers at the Jordan River Temple for 14 years, later serving a mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman. During this time, they were able to strengthen their love without the distractions of farm, children or grandchildren.

Mom had a passion for quilting even before the quilt guilds. All of us remember playing under the quilt while ladies were chatting and laughing. In her excitement to share with others, Betty and other special ladies formed the Tooele Quilt Guild. Through this guild, mom meet some of her best friends, some of which are 50 years younger than her. She loved keeping her hands busy with her needle crafts.

She was known and appreciated by family, friends and everyone who tasted her food. She taught her daughters to never return an empty plate. At potluck dinners, people asked which dish was Betty’s so they could make sure they could taste it. Her recipes were coveted by everyone.

Mom was a mom to anyone or everyone, which was her greatest gift and accomplishment.

Obit Andrea Medrano DuBoisAndrea Medrano DuBois, age 69, made the trek to “Disneyland” on April 9, 2019. She unexpectedly passed suddenly and peacefully in her home joining her loving husband John W. DuBois. She was born in Costilla, New Mexico, on April 17, 1949, to Luis and Juanita Medrano. She was their third of nine children and moved to Grantsville when she was just a toddler.

Our loving mother had a great adventure and lived a short time in Hawaii but knew Grantsville was her true home and eventually returned. It was during her work at the Tooele Army Depot where she met the love of her life, John. They were married July 10, 1981, in Stansbury Park, Utah. After they were married, John and Andrea bought a house on Cooley street in Grantsville where they lived with their two daughters Angie and Cindy. Surrounded by loving neighbors they had a very happy family life for many years.

There is a big celebration in “Disneyland” as mom is reunited with our dad; our grandpa Luis; grandma Juanita; uncle Ernie; aunt Karel; our uncle Johnny and his wife, aunt April, and their son, Jason; uncle Clarence; and the baby of them all, uncle Louie. As mom is celebrating with them, we are celebrating her life here with those of us who remain: aunt Jenny Lou Martinez; uncle Jimmy; uncle Jacob and wife, aunt Jennifer; uncle Robert and wife, aunt Kris; and aunt Jamie Lee; and, of course, her kids, Angie and BA Valdez, Cindy and Wade Golden. She loved her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and her nephew Jeffrey would help her with yard work and household chores. Mom’s pride and joy were her three grandkids, Travis, Trevor, Jessica and her companion dog, GinGin.

Please join us in mom’s celebration of life Monday, April 15, 2019. A viewing will be at 3 p.m. with services at 4 p.m. at the Hale Street LDS meeting house, 428 S. Hale St., Grantsville, Utah. Internment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal charity on behalf of our mother who dearly loved all animals. Special thanks to mom’s personal healthcare team: Joey, April, Rachel, Cat, Kelly, and Kevin; and we are sorry if we missed anyone. Mommy loved and touched the lives of so many that we are so grateful for everything.
