Dennis Arthur Hope of Tooele, Utah died Friday, June 23, 2017, just a few days following his 72nd birthday, after years of complications from his battle with cancer.
He was born to Arthur Carl Hope and Golda Fae Price on June 19, 1945 in Rexburg, Idaho. He served an LDS mission from 1963-66 in the Uruguay-Paraguay South American Mission. He received a Bachelor’s of Physics and a Master of Business Administration degrees.
He married Sharon Gardner in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 16, 1966. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Air Force. He was a bishop in West Jordan and also Riverton, and a stake president in West Jordan. He served as a Temple Worker at the Jordan River Temple. He loved being a father and a grandfather.
He leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly: his wife Sharon of over 50 years, five children: Dawnetta H. Morrell, Alyson H. Anthony, Theresa Lyn H. Camp, Daniel D. Hope, Jason D. Hope and their spouses and sixteen grandchildren, as well as his large extended family.
A viewing will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the LDS Overlake Ward building located at 220 W. 2200 North, Tooele, Utah, followed by the funeral services at noon. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery by Tate Mortuary.
