Nina O. Andersen

Obit Nina O. AndersenNina Andersen, age 86, received her Christmas wish and returned on Dec. 1, 2016, to her heavenly home to be with her sweetheart of 69 years, “Pinky,” who passed away on Nov. 4. Nina was born in Ruth, Nevada to Charles A. Owen and Daisy A. Palmer. Nina grew up in Hunter, Utah and attended Cyprus High School. She married Vernal A. “Pinky” Andersen in the Salt Lake Temple on Oct. 1, 1947. They moved to Tooele in 1949. Nina and Pinky served in the Canada Vancouver mission for the LDS Church from October 1987 to July 1988. Upon their return, they volunteered at the Tooele Deseret Industries from 1990 to 1995. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, four brothers, four sisters and a grandson. She is survived by her sister Edna Andersen of Ivins, Utah, seven children, 28 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street, Tooele, Utah on Dec. 8 from 6-8 p.m. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10-10:45 a.m., Dec. 9 at the LDS meetinghouse at 1025 Southwest Drive, Tooele, Utah.
