Tobias (Toby) Martinez

Tobias Allen Martinez, age 31, left this world too soon at Castleview Hospital on June 2, 2016. He was born Sept. 11, 1984, in Tooele, Utah to Allen Frank and Kathy Kay Gualtieri Martinez. Toby has gone home to be reunited with his mother and father. He had a strong bond with both of his parents. Toby spent his entire life learning everything he knew about Harleys from his father and they spent many hours traveling around with the wind at their backs. It was one of his most treasured memories. The connection and bond he shared with his mother was unparalleled. Toby was a self-proclaimed “momma’s boy.” Not a day went by he didn’t call her just to hear her voice. After she passed four years ago, a piece of him was lost forever. Toby found new hope and love in the news he would be welcoming his first son in August. He was so proud and wanted to share him with his parents, so Toby made the decision to name his son after them both and chose the name Frank K. Martinez. Toby enjoyed the outdoors, everything from hunting and camping to photographing nature, one of his hidden hobbies and talents. In his free time, he enjoyed building and cruising rock crawlers, rat rods and Harleys. After his father and riding companion passed five months ago, he found solace in riding with new friends. It was one of the few moments he truly felt free. He is survived by his fiancé Tabetha West, Price; step-daughters Romae and Amileah West, Price; sister Angela Martinez, Layton; nieces Angel and Ariana Martinez, Layton and Shelyn Vargas, Spokane, Washington; nephew Jordy Christensen, Murray and grandpa Esequiel Martinez, Tooele. Preceded in death by his father, Allen Frank Martinez, and mother, Kathy Kay Martinez. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends half an hour prior to services.
