Adela (“Della”) Brito Mondragon

Obit Adela (“Della”) Brito MondragonAdela (“Della”) Brito Mondragon, age 83, died peacefully in her sleep after a long struggle with health issues on Feb. 25, 2016. She was born in Llano de Taos, New Mexico, and was raised with a large family of brothers and sisters.  She later married the love of her life William Mondragon in 1950. They moved from New Mexico to Tooele, Utah, in 1950 where they raised a family of five. Adela dedicated her life as a full-time homemaker and mother. Della especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved music, singing, dancing and her trips to Wendover. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Marguerite’s Catholic Church. She truly missed attending Sunday mass as her health deteriorated and being an active member of the church choir. Della is survived by her loving husband William; sons and daughters Ralph Mondragon, Diane Gonzales, Lloyd Mondragon (Loretta) and Arleen Childs (Bruce); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Josephine Garcia, Betty (Leroy) Quintana, Berlinda (Bob) Contreres (Albuquerque, New Mexico); brothers Nelson Brito, Albert Brito and Henry Brito (Denver, Colorado). Preceded in death by parents Joe and Maxine Brito; daughter Joyce Mondragon; brother Eloy Ben and sisters Aurora Fernandez and Eloida Vargas. Services will be held at Saint Marguerite’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, with a viewing from 6-7 p.m. followed by a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral mass on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior. Interment  will take place at the Tooele City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her at Intermountain Medical Center and the staff at Rocky Mountain Care, especially Michelle RN and Sarah CNA who provided much compassion and loving care during her illness.
