David Scott Long passed away this December at the age of 69, due to heart failure.
David was a “model son” born to Duane and Joyce in 1953, and survived growing up in Dugway, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and met his wife Marlene in Salt Lake City.
He had a vibrant and varied career as an aerospace stress engineer; working on many influential projects such as the Boeing 777, 767, 737, and the James Webb Space Telescope.
David enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, and exploring the great outdoors.
As a Bible believing christian, David believed in grace through faith not through our own ability. He will be missed, but to those whose faith is in Christ, he will have life in the age to come.
He is survived by a loving wife Marlene; five children Angelynn (Ben) Bankes, Jeremy (Amanda) Long, Derrek (Meredith) Long, Fredric (Rose) Long, and Amberly (Steve) Russell; 11 darling grandchildren; his sweet mother Joyce Long; his two brothers Mark (Jane) Long and Brian (Darlene) Long; his sister Becky (Jeff) Rathjen; and his cat.
A celebration of life service will be held Jan. 2, 2024, at 2:22 pm, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 276 E. 500 North, Tooele, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Focus on the Family.
