Obit Nadean Luedke SweetNadean “Dean” Luedke Sweet, age 71, passed away Feb. 22, 2023, surrounded by her family in Tooele, Utah, after a short battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Nadean was born Oct. 26, 1951, to William Ferdinand “Ferdie” Luedke and June Katherine Reary in Steamboat, Colorado.
She was a cheerleader and a drummer in the marching band, at Soroco High School, and graduated class of ’69. Dean graduated from beauty school in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she won several competitions and awards.
She loved her Denver Broncos, and even got to meet John Elway. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and camping with friends and family. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and spent much of her time tending them before they started attending school. She lived in many places, but Colorado was always her home and she loved returning to Oak Creek for Memorial Day and Labor Day to reconnect with her childhood friends and relatives. Dean never met a stranger and easily made new friends wherever she went.
Nadean is survived by her husband Donn Sweet; three sons Phillip (Jen) Otero, William (Torie) Otero, Ricky Joe (Ashley) McIntyre; seven grandchildren; and her sister Ferdell Luedke (James) Day. She was greeted in heaven by her mom and “daddy,” grandparents James and Hazel Smith Reary and William and Agnes Smith Luedke.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to the family March 18, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Old Grantsville Church, 297 W. Clark St., Grantsville, Utah. A celebration of life will take place in Oak Creek, Colorado, during the Memorial Day weekend, 2023.
