James William Harris, “Jim, Jimbo, Moj, Balls, Papi”, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side at his home in Tooele, Utah, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021.
James was born May 25, 1946, in Tooele, Utah, to June N. Bouck Harris and William B. Harris, he had one sibling Joan Harris Caldwell Elton who passed just three months before he passed.
He married Coleen Russell and after parting ways, he married Debra Chamberlain and had a son Dustyn William Harris with her, after several years they separated. He had another son Troy Justin Harris Madsen with Brenda Mcnickol. He has spent the last 25 years with his special friend Patricia Gove by his side.
After James served in the National Guard, he went on to work for his father around the farm cutting wheat, bailing hay, and tending to the animals. He learned a great deal about maintaining various farm equipment and how to weld from his father, which is when he made the decision to take the skills he learned and begin his own business working with his eldest son Dustyn doing custom paint jobs and collision repair. He was quite the mechanic. James also worked for Utah Pipe Fab, Anaconda, Tooele Army Depot, Kennecott, Clive, Wier Bro’s, and had several welding jobs as well, such as working for a friend A. P. Montano. He was a very talented, hard-working man, a jack of all trades, and the go-to man when needing almost anything repaired. Jim was very selfless and would do just about anything for anyone. He was very intelligent and taught many life lessons to us all. He really had a way about him that just made any situation good or bad better with his positive and loving outlook on life. He was kindhearted, and had a witty sense of humor, which is why he had so very many friends and people who cherished, admired, and looked up to him. Although James was a busy man, he always made time for and enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with his family.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, waterskiing, and just about anything outdoors. Camping out at Delta, Utah, with his family and friends was his favorite thing to do and in his later years also enjoyed and was an avid bowler and excellent pool player as well.
He taught us all so much and will always be remembered for his infectious smile and mischievous laugh; he will be loved and missed dearly.
