On a warm, sunny Sunday morning on the 16th of May, 2021, the fingertips of God touched our beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother, Jerilyn McFarland Erichson as she was surrounded by family. She peacefully passed away after a long battle with multiple health issues, but ultimately it was cancer that took her from us far too soon.
Jerilyn married Ralph Lloyd in July of 1975 and together they had one son Trevor Frank Lloyd. They were later divorced. She married Georg Erichson on May 26, 1993, and they resided in Stansbury Park, Utah.
Jerilyn went to Tooele High School, graduating in 1973. She participated in many activities while there, including: cheerleading for four years, yearbook staff, drama club — in which she thrived, and participated in the Miss Tooele County Pageant where she was crowned first attendant. She attended Utah State University where she was a member of the USU dance team now known as the Aggiettes. Ultimately, she accepted a position at LDS Hospital as supervisor of the volunteer department. Her passion for leading volunteers to bring smiles and comfort to hospital patients brought her an abundance of joy. She was given the task of rewriting the official LDS Hospital Volunteer Handbook, which she worked diligently on and took great pride in.
Jerilyn was an active member in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was selected as Woman of the Year in 1989. She and her mother opened Country Treasures Gift Shop on Main Street in Tooele which they operated for eight years and absolutely cherished the opportunity to work together. She was also involved with the Children’s Justice Center where she found herself so grateful for the opportunity to give back to children and the community. She was a firm believer in service and started her son Trevor volunteering at a young age.
Jerilyn loved traveling, boating, skiing, playing the piano, reading autobiographies and true crime, riding horses, and photography. As well as listening to some of her favorite classic country, blues, Motown and oldies artists.
She is survived by her parents Gerald and Renee McFarland; husband Georg Erichson; son Trevor Lloyd; step-daughter Lisa (Matt) Black; grandchildren Caleb, Luke, and Clara Black; brothers Denny (Audrey) McFarland and Todd McFarland.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Symbii Home Health for the wonderful care and service they provided. And an extra special thank you to Yancey Harris, Kimberly Zollinger and her sorority sisters for the loving, kind, and caring friendships they shared with Jerilyn throughout the years. We love you.
A viewing for Jerilyn will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, at Tate Mortuary from 11a.m. to 12:45 p.m., followed by a graveside service at the Tooele City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
