Obit Dave Eugene HillDave Eugene Hill returned to the Great Spirit and reunited with his son, Eddie, on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, after heart failure. He was born to Leander Enoch Hill and Fordelia Annie Ion Terkleson on July 13, 1944. He was second to the youngest of 10 children: Lucille, Dale, Glenn, James, Doris, Norma, Darlene, Annalee and Juanita.

Dave married and divorced several times until he met Lynn in 1991. They married two years later. Together they raised Eddie and John and his step-children from another marriage. He loved all of his children equally.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; son, John; grandson, Tanner; stepchildren: Terry Gleason, Randy, Rhonda, Flori, Treavy, Kenzi and Jackie; 32 grandchildren and one grandchild on the way; sisters: Doris, Darlene and Juanita; and hundreds of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Dave drove semi trucks for a living for many years. He later changed over to diesel mechanics for 20 years until retirement. He loved to build fast cars and fast motorcycles and he loved to trade, hunt and shoot guns. All the kids loved whenever he came around to see what he had to trade. He was also known as a great storyteller and told funny jokes.

He was also the fixer in the family. If anybody had a problem, he could figure it out and get the job done. He may have had to think about it for a bit, but he always found a solution. He never found anything that he couldn’t fix.

He loved his family very much and loved to tease and play with the children. He loved being around his grandchildren. They lit up his eyes and enjoyed every tea party, every sword fight and every fingernail painting session.

After retirement, he loved going and participating in car shows around Utah and received many awards. It became a big family affair at each show with family and friends getting together and enjoying each other’s company. He was very proud of the show cars that he built with the help of his family and his friends.

He was also known for his homemade pancakes. Not many entered our home and left without getting fresh pancakes from Papa Dave for breakfast. He was always there to listen and had good advice for many. His stories and his jokes received all the attention when he was around. He will be greatly missed, and is loved by so many, young and old.
