Jack Udell Gibson, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he lived the past 15 years with his loving wife, Arlys Gibson.
Jack “Gibby” was born in Moroni, Utah, on Sept. 8, 1924, and grew up in Tooele. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Corporal Jack Gibson received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon and a Victory Medal and served as a Medic, 334th Station Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Arlys Nordquist Gibson; children, Rand (Carol) Gibson, Pamela (Bill) Bradshaw, Cindy Murray, Dev (Holly) Gibson and Guy (Naomi) Gibson; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and five step-children: Randy Nordquist, Tyrone Nordquist, Brenda Malimanek, Tammy Hentges and Becky Mueller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ondus Horace and Remelda Nielsen Gibson; first wife, Darlene McArthur Gibson; daughter, Jackie Gibson Cardenas; son-in-law, Richard Murray; sister, Ivis Allsop; and brothers, LaRae and Bill Gibson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Speir’s Farm, 394 W. 200 South, Tooele.
