Obit Kathryn Neff LarsenKathryn Neff Larsen returned to her Heavenly Father on Feb. 26, 2015. Her final days were spent surrounded by children, grandchildren, colleagues and friends. Kathy was born and raised in Santaquin, Utah. She had a deep love for her parents, and her brother Ed and sister Pat. Kathy met the love of her life Wayne Larsen while attending Payson High School. They were married July 26, 1968 in the Logan Temple. She attended Snow College, and later graduated from the University of Utah with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Wayne and Kathy lived in Rose Park and Granger before moving to their lifelong home in Erda, Utah. She loved supporting her children in baseball, basketball, and volleyball; she loved to keep score at her boys’ baseball games. She loved basketball, especially the Utah Jazz, and loved to visit Disneyland, especially with her grandkids. She was a marvelous cook, and loved to sew. She insisted that her family go on a family vacation every summer, always saying that such trips were an ‘investment’ in her family. She also loved to go with the family on hunting and fishing trips. She had an amazing ability to listen and offer advice and counsel. She also loved to attend plays and musicals with her closest friends. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings. Her favorites were serving in the Young Women’s Organization and as a primary teacher with her husband Wayne. When her youngest child Lauree went to school in 1984, she was hired as a teacher’s aide in the first grade at Stansbury Park Elementary. Kathy went on to teach first grade for 32 years. She loved to teach, and spent many hours before and after school preparing for class. She touched countless lives of students and colleagues. Her students and friends at Stansbury Park were never far from her mind. She was a dedicated teacher right up to the last days of her life. She is survived by husband Wayne, sons Shayne Larsen (Leigh) and Randy Larsen (Laura), daughter Lauree (Kendall), sister Pat Neff and sister-in-law Lynette Neff, aunt June Heelis, and grandchildren Jordan, Shelbie, Jaycee, Maggie, Krista, Trevor, Ryan, Annie, and Katie. She is preceded in death by her son, Brad, father and mother, Betty and Alden E. Neff, brother Eddie Neff, and grandson Zach Larsen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at the Erda Chapel located at 134 E. Erda Way in Erda, Utah. A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary, Monday, March 2 from 6-8 p.m.
