Frank William Fife was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Spencer, McCook County, South Dakota to Ray and Emma Fife (Murray). He passed away Feb. 6, 2015.
He leaves behind his wife Anita Fife (Burr), who he married August 6, 2009 in Tooele, Utah, and two stepchildren, Gary Grimes of Texas and Maureen Wright (Grimes) of Montana. Frank had one brother Robert from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and three sisters, Fern Bennett (Fife), Sturgis, South Dakota, Ada Henninger (Fife), Lead, South Dakota, and Flora Tevis (Fife) Tacoma, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Anna Ethel Fife and his two wives, Arlet Jean Fischer and Connie Hope Fogle who both died from cancer. Frank was a WWII veteran serving in the Army in the South Pacific. He had a total of 29.5 years service including the Reserves and Army National Guard. He was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service in South Dakota. A memorial service will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 276 E. 500 North in Tooele, on Monday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. for friends and family. Pastor Tim Wilson will be conducting the celebration of Frank’s life. Frank requested to be cremated and have his remains shipped to Rapid City, South Dakota for interment in his family plot. There will be military honors at the graveside in Pine Lawn Cemetery; these services will be held at a later date.
