She is survived by her husband, Jim Brower; her children, Rob (Amber) Smith, Christy Anderson, Jeremy (Jill) Smith, Cory (April) Smith, Justin (Megan) Smith, and Ryann Rasmussen. Talia Helen Littlefield

Obit Talia Helen LittlefieldOur beautiful Talia Helen Littlefield left us quickly and tragically on April 24, 2019, as a result of a car accident. She was 18 years old, soon to graduate from Stansbury High School and excited for the future. She was sweet, kind, vibrant, smart, vivacious, and ready to conquer the world.

Talia was born January 15, 2001, two minutes after her twin brother Xander, and after her mother spent 16 weeks on bedrest in the hospital. Her birth came with much anticipation and rejoicing by her parents, Mathew and Tina Littlefield, and her large extended family. She was spunky and stubborn from the beginning at 5 lbs. 5 ounces.

Watching her grow and develop was a joy and a challenge. She wanted things her way, and did everything she could to ensure that she got what she wanted. She was so independent right from the beginning and that drive to grow and live filled everything she did. She enjoyed seeing and eating new things and was always up for an adventure. Quick witted and funny she could fit in and find friends anywhere she went and loved living life at full speed.

In her high school years, she has excelled academically including obtaining a CNA her Junior year and was almost finished with the Medical Assistant certificate program. She had dreams of being a doctor and had recently determined her ultimate goal was to deliver babies as an Obstetrician.

She loved working with the elderly, and has been working at Rocky Mountain Care and Legacy Home Health. When she wasn’t working or studying, she wanted to be with her friends. Her friends describe her as “funny,” “such a light,” a “supporter,” a “defender,” a “bright ray of sunshine,” and “a great friend.” Her favorite friend was Keggen and their relationship over the last year brought her great joy. She was loved by many, and will be sorely missed by all.

We recognize and acknowledge the loving hands of our Heavenly Father in each of our lives, and in the life of Talia. His plans for her were different from those we wanted. While we mourn her loss, we are certain of the eternal nature of families and that our separation will be brief because of the beautiful sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We love you Talia and we will miss you so much!

Talia is survived by her parents, Mathew and Tina Littlefield; her siblings, Corbin, Xander, Eira, Claire and Breccon; her grandparents, Brent and Joyce Littlefield, Jack Ruffino, and Marilyn Snow; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to name.

There will be viewings Wednesday, May 1, 2019, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and Thursday morning, May 2, 2019, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Viewings and the funeral will be held at the Stansbury Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 417 Benson Road, Stansbury Park, Utah. All services will be managed in the care of Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home. Online condolences and memories can be shared at daltonhoopes.com.

The family wants to express gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love and support on their behalf. People have been so generous with their time and money and it is so appreciated.

Obit Susan Mary Eileen Ross HarrisonSusan Mary Eileen Ross Harrison, age 75, returned home April 30, 2019, after courageously enduring Alzheimer’s disease. She was born Aug. 13, 1943, in Susanville, California, to Edward Edwards Ross Jr. and Dorothy Belle McIntosh Ross. Born in the midst of World War II, she grew up without knowing her father, as he was killed in action only six weeks after she was born. Her family takes great comfort knowing she has now been reunited with her parents and brother.

Susan grew up in Northern California with many fond memories of summers spent traveling and playing outdoors. She was a proud graduate of Shasta High School in Redding, California, in 1961.

On Aug. 25, 1962, Susan became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a decision that brought her to Utah, where she met the love of her life, Wayne A. Harrison Jr. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug. 9, 1968.

During their more than 50 years of marriage, Susan and Wayne went on many adventures together and with their family, with favorite destinations of Disneyland and Cambria, California.  She liked to say she was a ‘gypsy at heart’ and was happiest when she could be on long road trips exploring new places. A highlight for them was serving a mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, as a couple.

Susan loved her heritage and genealogy. Anyone with Scotch or Irish blood was immediately adopted as one of ‘her people.’ She was a proud descendant of Stephen Hopkins who came to America on the Mayflower and was an active member of the Mayflower Association and Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved Relief Society and never gave up as a visiting teacher.

Susan’s greatest love was her family. She took great pride in the accomplishments, big and small, of her children and grandchildren. She spent countless hours sitting at recitals, sporting events, and plays, usually with large amounts of treats to spoil the grandchildren. She made the world’s best chocolate chip cookies!

Susan is survived by her loving and devoted spouse, Wayne; her children, Matthew Harrison (Tanya), Heather Lyman (Wayne), Jennifer Stewart (Randy), Michael Harrison (Beth); her grandchildren, Alex and Chloe Harrison, Jacob and Brianna Lyman (Collin Ray), Taylor Reber (Ryan), Riley, Kiki, Brody, Quincy and Emersyn Stewart, Dallin, Madelyn, Jonathan, Joshua and Abigail Harrison; and great-grandchildren Boone and Lucy Reber; as well as her favorite aunt, Maudie Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Craig Lofftus.

We would like to especially thank the wonderful staff at Spring Gardens Assisted Living as well as Encompass Home Health and Hospice for their kind and loving care of mom in the past year.

A memorial service will be held at Spring Gardens Assisted Living Facility in St. George, Utah, on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. Graveside service will be at the Tooele City Cemetery, Monday, May 6, 2019, at 11 a.m.

Linda Joyce Mair

Obit Linda Joyce MairLinda Joyce Mair would like to let you know that she returned to her Heavenly Father on her favorite day, May the 4th be with you. As you can tell she was a huge Star Wars fan. She received a call, a sort of offer you can’t refuse. This offer entailed having no pain, returning to see loved ones, never ending delicious food that doesn’t make you gain an ounce, reading, and all the talking, laughter, and love she could ever handle.

Linda was born Oct. 6, 1951, to Dawna Gladys Ellis and Norman Clarence Hammer, in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married the love of her life, her joy, her happiness (and royal pain) Lyndon A. Mair on April 17, 1970, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug. 6, 1974.

According to the stories she would tell, life didn’t begin until the day she got married. She was told by a doctor that she couldn’t have children so she went on to have four children in five years, defying him and the odds. That wasn’t enough for her so she became a librarian for the Tooele County School District. This way she could have between 400-800 children, depending on the school, and even better, she could send them home when she got tired of them. When the district told her she had to have a teaching license to continue being a librarian, she decided to get her bachelors and then masters degree so she could become a teacher and continue in the profession she loved. She was stubborn, opinionated, determined, and a control freak but we say this with love because it helped her throughout life including two weeks after she retired when she found out she had ovarian cancer.

She is survived by Shane Mair, Charity Mair, Tammy Bedford (Brian), Brock Mair, Jarom Mair (Emily), and 15 grandchildren. She has a sister, Cynthia J. Dooley (John), and a brother, Doug Parkin, remaining here on earth while she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Spriggs.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them even when they teased her endlessly. She loved to camp, go to Disneyland, cruise, and spend time in Park City.

Before she is laid to rest she invites you to come see her one last time and say goodbye on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Village Boulevard Chapel, 390 E. Village Blvd., Stansbury Park, Utah, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (viewing), and a luncheon and celebration of life (there will be singing and anyone is welcome to share a memory or story about Linda) at 1 p.m., following the family prayer. Close friends and family are welcome to attend. Services under the direction of Didericksen Memorial.

In lieu of flowers she would like you to donate to the Huntsman Cancer Institute where 100% of donations go to cancer research: TheHuntsman.org/give

Obit William Judd Ericson 1On the morning of May 4, 2019, our COWBOY took his last ride.Obit William Judd Ericson 2

William Judd Ericson was born June 15, 1943, to John William and Marjorie Rydalch Ericson.

Daddy fought a valiant and courageous battle with cancer to the very end.

He was a man who met many people and became friends with them all. He was a generous man that was always willing to help anyone out and never told anyone no. Judd followed the rodeo circuit in his younger years. From there he began working for Vista Liner is 1963. Judd also worked for the National Forest Service in 1964, then went to work for the Tooele Valley Railroad. From there he was a semi truck driver, driving coast to coast.

Judd worked many years for Tooele City and was foreman for the city streets, but Judd’s passion was when he became a Tooele County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was offered a position at Getty Mine as a security officer, which he took and worked there for a short time. He went back to the sheriff’s office and was a deputy on the county roads, then was promoted to lead detective. The state medical examiner asked Judd to be the M.E. for Tooele County; he accepted the position and even had his daughter, Lynette, working with him until he retired in 2006.

Dad knew Tooele County like the back of his hand, and there isn’t a mountain range he couldn’t describe. His knowledge of the county was an asset to the search and rescue division in which he was a lifelong member.

Judd married June Darlene Sturtevant on June 12, 1964, and later divorced. From this union they had three beautiful children, Lynette, Lisa and Will. Judd also was a papa to Montana, Jagger and Elissah. His love for his kids and grandkids had no end.

Dad loved rodeos, branding trips to Ibapah at the Hick’s Ranch and in Ekalaka, Montana, where his cousin owns a ranch. He loved to tool leather, hunt arrow heads, ride his horses and farm. Dad had a passion for music and played guitar beginning at a young age. He never read music but played by ear. He taught his son the passion for the guitar and they would play together at home. He played at many bars and pool halls and many other functions. He played with a band called the Midnight Cowboys and the Teepee Creepers. Spending time with his family was most important to him. His grandkids loved to be with their papa, always learning new jokes and how to ride horses, also dying a raw egg at Easter. They were his pride and joy!

Judd was a man who was loved by many, a great friend and neighbor to all.

Judd is survived by his daughters, Lynette (Ticky) Gordon, Lisa (Peter) Buzianis; his son, Will Ericson; his grandkids, Montana (Austin) Wagstaff-Buzianis, Jagger Chiles and Elissah Ericson; great-grandson, Maverick John Wagstaff-Buzianis; brothers, Dale Rydalch Ericson and Butch Niesporek; and best buddies, Binks, the cat, and Skeeter, his loyal dog.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marge Ericson; sister, Donna Dee; brother, Clyde Dean Ericson; and great-niece, Desiree’ Rose.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pine Canyon, Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11 a.m., 2032 Churchwood Dr., Pine Canyon, Utah. There will be no viewing. Interment at Tooele City Cemetery.

Denis J. Prisbrey

Sept. 2, 1952 – May 9, 2019

Denis Jack Prisbrey, known to some as Wooly Mammoth or Wild Stallion, passed away during a sudden and brief stay at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, May 9, 2019, at the frustratingly young age of 66.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle and best friend, Denis was born Sept. 2, 1952, in St. George, Utah, to Jack Roland Prisbrey and Laurel Adele (Anderson) Prisbrey. In his youth, Denis spent a great deal of time with family in the rural town of Oak City, Utah, where a piece of his heart always remained. There he developed an appreciation of his family heritage, history, the mountains and the west desert.

His adult years were spent in service. He served in the Air Force during the later years of the Vietnam War where he enjoyed bouts of “poor attitude” and “misconduct” with his superior officer. Denis eventually settled in Salt Lake City where he served his community for 18 years as a police officer and weapons instructor for the West Valley City Police Department. The latter, and majority, part of Denis’ life was spent as a well-respected writer for several gun and outdoor magazines.

While it took Denis a few tries, he finally found the love of his life, Bubbles, and settled in Lake Point, Utah. Together for over 30 years, their never-ending devotion to each other served as a great example to their children and others. Denis found joy connecting in unique and thoughtful ways to those he loved. He found even more joy being a grandfather and mentor with simple acts like coloring with his granddaughters or helping a little buddy achieve his Eagle Scout award. His friendship, support and big bear hugs will be sorely missed.

Denis is survived by wife, Carol Jane “Bubbles” Prisbrey; children, Kelly Kinney (Christopher, Winston-Salem, North Carolina), KanaMarie Poulson (Chris, Bluffdale), Jody Woodard (Salt Lake City) and Angela McNorbrey (Mendi, North Tacoma, Washington); granddaughters, Madison Kinney (North Carolina) and Izabella Woodard (Salt Lake City); siblings, Thane Prisbrey, family friend Chris Peterson, Stacy Prisbrey all of Meridian, Idaho, Scott Prisbrey (Victoria, Portland, Oregon), Gail Dealy (Boise, Idaho) and Kenny McGrath (Nampa, Idaho). He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimi Prisbrey (Salt Lake City); and his grandson, Sasuke Poulson (Bluffdale).

Viewings will be at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., in Tooele, May 16, 2019, 6 – 8 p.m., and Friday, May 17, 2019, 12 – 12:45 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment at Lake Point Cemetery in Lake Point, Utah.

The family respectfully asks that you wear blue jeans to the services. We promised him it’d be casual.

Obit Thomas Alan GriffithsJuly 27, 1940 – May 3, 2019

On May 3, 2019, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed through the veil to meet his eternal sweetheart on the third anniversary of her death; Thomas Alan Griffiths, age 78, passed away in his home in Grantsville, Utah.

Thomas (“Tom” or “Tommy”) was born July 27, 1940, to Thomas S. and Naomi Johnson Griffiths in Logan, Utah, growing up in the “Island” area. He attended Utah State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Tom served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany in 1963, obtaining a deferment from the Vietnam draft until he returned home in 1965. Instead of being assigned to the front lines of the war, as originally planned by the Army, at the last minute he was appointed to work as a chemist at Dugway Proving Grounds. In 1967, he was discharged from the Army and continued to work in Dugway as a civilian for the next 25 years, where he received several awards for his technical accomplishments. After he retired from Dugway, Tom worked at the Tooele Army Depot in the Battelle division.

On June 14, 1968, he married “the girl next door,” his childhood neighbor, Eloise Watts, in the Logan, Utah, temple. They lived in Dugway until 1976, when they bought a home in Grantsville. Tom and Eloise had three amazingly gifted, talented and intelligent children: John Alan (1974), Greta (1977), and Nathan (1985), who will always be very grateful to their parents, who continually worked and sacrificed in their behalf.

Tom served as Ward Clerk, and later as Stake Clerk, for many years.

Tom loved to run in 5k and 10k races, even into his 70s, placing in the top 10 numerous times. His true love, however, was his bicycle. He rode it nearly every day for 10 miles or more, up until the time of his death. He was an avid gardener and spent thousands of hours (many of those with Eloise) in his yard, always giving vegetables away to friends and family members.

Tom loved classical music and the fine arts. In his free time, he would watch concert pianists or orchestras on television, or a much-loved bluegrass band. “Listen to this…,” he would say, as he greatly enjoyed sharing his favorite performances with others.

Tom was a true friend to animals. He never turned away a stray cat and found places for mother cats to safely care for their babies. He had three housecats that he dearly loved. He often had animals following him around the yard as he worked. He always made friends with whatever animal came around including cats, chickens, peahens, peacocks, dogs and more. He will be truly missed by his animal companions.

Tom is survived by his children, their spouses, his adoring grandchildren, and many great friends, neighbors and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eloise; and his brother, John.

An open house memorial will be held at the Griffiths’ home, 482 E. Main, in Grantsville, Saturday, May 18, from 4 – 6 p.m. Please join us! Open sharing will be from 5 – 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

Obit William Bryan Hogan 1William Bryan Hogan was born August 21, 1972, in Logan, Utah, to Bill and Jill Hogan. He passed away in his sleep at his home May 11, 2019, to begin his mission in heaven.

Obit William Bryan Hogan 2Bryan was raised on the Hogan Family Farm where he lived and worked alongside many of his cousins. It is here where he learned his strong work ethic and developed his close-knit relationship with his cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He attended Tooele High School where he excelled academically and loved playing basketball for the Buffaloes. He graduated in 1990 and then began attending Utah State University that fall.

Bryan loved the outdoors. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, and especially duck hunting. He loved spending time with his family on Sunday afternoons, on family vacations, and could always be found making quick-witted remarks. Those closest to Bryan will miss his good sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh.

Throughout his life Bryan was an example to all those who knew him, especially with his unrivaled perseverance. Though he will leave a large void and be greatly missed by his family and loved ones, we are joyful in the fact that he can now do those things that his body here on earth was no longer able to accomplish.

Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarke and Elaine Johnsen, Leland and Bertha Hogan; and his uncle, Eric Hogan, and was no doubt welcomed into their open arms. He is survived by his parents; sister, Hiedi (Rob) Purvis; brothers, Matt (Tiffany), Brent (Mary) and Nick (Tabitha); 13 nieces and nephews; along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to attend a farewell to honor his life Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m., at the Stockton LDS Church Cultural Hall. There will be a short program and dress is casual. Funeral services will be held at the Stockton LDS Chapel Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 11 a.m., with a viewing prior to the service from 9 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.

He was a lifelong and devoted member of the Catholic Church. Don loved his family and friends, life, meeting new people, sunny Arizona, Utah, tomatoes, and the casino. Thursday was Don’s lucky day, which he spent at the casino playing his favorite slot machine, where he was luckier than most.

Obit Alyssa Lambert McClellan 1The incomparably beautiful, kind, and tenacious Alyssa Lambert McClellan, age 30, of Stansbury Park, Utah, died on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019. Though cancer took her body, it never touched her spirit. Following a hard-fought battle with Ewing sarcoma, she died peacefully in her childhood home surrounded by dear family and friends.

Obit Alyssa Lambert McClellan 2Alyssa was born Aug. 26, 1988, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to proud parents, John Lambert and Juline (Yager) Lambert. She was lovingly known as “Sis” to her brothers, Josiah and Chase.

In her youth, Alyssa was an avid tennis player, budding photographer, and competitively danced as a member of the All-American National Clogging Team. Alyssa spent many cherished years homeschooling with her family and attended Tooele High School until 2007. She studied at Utah Valley University. Sporting the brightest smile and most contagious laugh, it is fitting that she began her career as a dental assistant and ultimately became an office manager for several dental offices in the area.

Alyssa was a proud Army spouse to SPC Collin Thomas McClellan. They were married August 27, 2009, at Wheeler Farm. They became parents to twins, Riley and Jackson (9), followed by Blake (5), and Boston (2). Alyssa was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and friend, but a mother above all else. She supported her family and her country through several military activations, including Afghanistan. She loved her boys deeply and fiercely.

Alyssa’s very favorite things included cheering her boys on in athletics, taking her family to Disneyland, going on cruises, camping and four-wheeling in Idaho, and exploring Lake Powell. She had a keen sense of place and was always planning the next big family adventure, even in her final days.

In accordance with her wishes, rather than holding a traditional funeral, her family will be hosting an open-house Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 18, from 4 – 9 p.m. All are welcome. In classic Alyssa fashion, instead of traditional services or speakers, she wanted lively music, a taco truck, and a bounce house. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help Alyssa’s family fulfill her wishes in establishing “Alyssa Alliance” in her honor. The organization will seek to support nearby parents battling rare forms of cancer and their young families. Donations can be made at the celebration or online at posthope.org/alyssamcclellan.

Alyssa will be remembered for being #fearLyss and her bright light will never go out.
