Kenneth C. Taylor

Kenneth C. Taylor was born July 7, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Claude Frank Taylor and Donna Lucille Dallin.

Ken married Susan Sabey on Aug. 16, 1963. They were the parents of one son, James Taylor. Ken married Judy Alice (Musser) Peterson on Aug. 2, 1975, and he became a father to her five children: Susanne, Susette, Steven, Mary and Daniel. Ken and Judy were sealed on Dec. 10, 2008, in the Salt Lake Temple.

What can you say about a man who put everyone before himself? Ken was a unique man that defined success for himself and rejected what the world defined as success. He felt that his only worth was what he did for other people. He was successful.

He often felt like he gave so little (two mites) and he always wished he had more to give. But like the woman in the Bible, Ken truly gave all he had to those around him.

Although Ken always had a strong work ethic, in his spare moments he enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking for family and friends. He was a devoted husband and dedicated his life to helping others.

On Aug. 17, 2017, the world lost a great man. Ken will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his children: Susanne Haring, Susette Peterson, James Taylor, Steven Peterson, Mary Gunning and Daniel Peterson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 583 N. 270 East, Tooele. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at daltonhoopes.com.

Bob spent many years coming to Utah to hunt, fish and just enjoy the outdoors. Retiring in Utah was the reason he worked so hard throughout his life. Bob loved the mountains and wanted a place where his family could come and enjoy the outdoors with him.

Bob was a devoted grandfather who always took an interest in what his grandkids were doing. This devotion took him to ball games, theatrical plays, rodeos, on many hunting trips and multiple trips to Disneyland. He was very supportive and the kind of grandpa that always had the right advice when asked.

Bob’s wishes were to not have a funeral or memorial service, but for all to remember the good times and good conversations we had with him when he was happy and healthy.

Obit Bryce Robert MadsenBryce Robert Madsen, 80, passed away Aug. 25, 2017, in Shelley, Idaho. He was born on Feb. 26, 1937, to Leona (Shaw) and Robert Eugene Madsen in Venice, Utah. He was the eldest of four siblings.

He spent his life as a professional body and fender mechanic, painter and pin striper. His body work and paint jobs were flawless. He was a master at mixing paint to match any vehicle he was working on.

When pin striping became a fad, he was the best. He was very proud of every vehicle that left his shop.

This profession led Bryce and his friends to form the first car club in Tooele, called The Kingstons. They met weekly to help each other work on their vehicles and to teach each other their professions. Bryce also loved to fish, hunt and square dance.

He was a private pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. His hats, pipes, hunting, red cars, taking home of movies, and easy way of smiling as he helped you fix something that was broken, will be remembered by all who loved him. Kind and gentle, he was a man who suffered neither fools nor dishonesty in others.

He did not want a large, fancy funeral — just a simple graveside interment, overseen by the Eagles. That service will be held Saturday, Sept. 2.

In later life he suffered from blindness, due to macular degeneration, and he participated in a clinical trial to help find a cure. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of the Tooele Eagles charities or any charity that assists the blind.

Obit Joey ‘Chill Dog’ Thomsen 2Joey chose to tragically end his life for reasons unknown. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

During his short years here Joey lived every day with kindness, consideration, passion and one of the prettiest dimpled smiles that would melt your heart.

Joey loved to be outside, to climb trees, have a campfire, throw knives, go hammocking, ride his long board, listen to good old music and eat good food!

Joey wore a Vans back pack called the “Adventure Bag” every time he left the house. Inside it you could always find at least one hammock with extra rope, a deck of cards, a pocket knife, a zippo lighter, fireworks and a bankroll of cash for food and any other adventure that came his way.

His short time here will not be measured in years but by the depths of light he shined on all those he came in contact with.

Joey will live on in OUR kind deeds, OUR laughter, OUR compassion, OUR love and next adventure!
