Collin Robert Wahlfeldt-Rowley
Our loving and wonderful son, brother, nephew and grandson passed away at his home surrounded by family following a six-year, knock- down, drag-out battle with brain cancer. On Oct. 13, 2016, he departed as he lived, with pride, grace and dignity. He was born Oct. 25, 1995. He possessed the heart of a lion but the soul of a poet and lived, laughed and loved in FULL theatre. Collin loved baseball, motor- cycles, golf, track, football, girls, the Broncos and most things fast on wheels. To adults, he was well-mannered, patient, dignified and coura- geous. To his peers he was just “super-cool,” funny and full of creative ideas for awe-inspiring adventures. Collin was always a great friend; he stayed in touch with many via Facebook and even in his last days con- tinued to talk about all the crazy escapades he had. All his friends were very special to him. He attended school in Stansbury Park, Dugway and Manhattan, Kansas, graduating from Stansbury High in May 2014. He spent most of his senior year on his third round of chemotherapy at Primary Children’s in Salt Lake City. Despite countless tests, procedures and hospitalizations, he never complained or shared a harsh word. We would like to thank those special people who were involved and supported Collin through- out this ordeal. They were the American Legion Department of Utah, Stansbury Golf Course Men’s Association, Ft. Riley Army Base, Kansas State University Athletics, Hill Air Force Base and Intermountain Hospice. Their obvious caring and resources for Collin and his family are much appreciated. In Collin’s final days, he spoke of a “nice giant that he had been talking to.” He said this on several occasions. We believe God has asked for his warrior angel to come home. Collin touched many and he will forever be in our hearts. Collin is survived by his parents, sister, grandparents, many aunts and uncles and lots of cousins. Interment will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Colorado, spring 2017. Collin was very concerned about the less-fortunate and in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Utah American Legion Emergency Assistance Fund or Utah American Legion Baseball, P.O. Box 148000, Salt Lake City, UT 84114. A celebration of his life and Collin’s 21st birth- day will be held at Stansbury Clubhouse on Oct. 25, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. Until we meet again, sweet Collin, our love is boundless.
