A celebration of life in loving memory of Snoopy Walk, Saturday, June 10, 2 p.m. at the Grantsville Cemetery.
Our beloved Mari L. “Snoopy” Millward Walk passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her home in Laurel, Montana in the loving arms of her husband after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer.
The family would like to invite all that knew Snoopy to a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. at the Grantsville Cemetery in the northeast corner. Glen Millward will lead in prayer while Alex Wood officiates the dedication of the headstone. There will be a social following the dedication at the Eagles Nest at the south entrance of the Toole Army Depot, just south of Tooele.
Snoopy wanted to be remembered with smiles, not tears so there will be a live band, full bar and in accordance to Snoopy’s standards, more food than can possibly be eaten and laughter that will drown out the music.
Snoopy was born June 21, 1955 to Lynn and Kathleen Millward in Grantsville, Utah, where she grew up with six siblings: Connie, Randy, Cheryl, Denny, Glenn and Kaye (KJ).
She lived most of her life in Grantsville where she raised three children: Mindi, Clint and Colby. Snoopy was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Snoopy met the love of her life, Tracy Walk, in 1995 in Grantsville and they were inseparable from that point on. They got married March 17, 2008 and their undying love continues to this day.
Snoopy was an avid pool player and won many trophies over a 30-year span. She loved football and was a huge fan of the BYU Cougars and the Washington Redskins. Tracy convinced her to take her first airplane ride to watch the Cougars in the fall of 2016, a trip they both thoroughly enjoyed. Snoopy adored her cats and treated them as if they were her children, always making sure there was a supply of fresh ground lamb just for them.
Snoopy’s love of life was unshakable. She always had a smile on her face, even on her hardest days. She loved everyone she met and was so happy to be host to friends and family. She had a fun and crazy sense of humor and never stressed the tough stuff. Snoopy was pure of heart; like a little kid in an adult body, every day was a new adventure and met with a smile. Snoopy — you will be forever loved and truly missed.
Snoopy is survived by her husband Tracy, her siblings, children and grandchildren. The family would like to express profound gratitude to Compassus Hospice in Billings, Montana and most especially to her personal hospice nurse, Samantha.
