On the morning of May 25, 2017, our beloved father, husband, brother, son, friend and “Noctor” passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Bryan met his sweetheart, Rebecca Harris Ditty at Ricks College in 1987, served in the LDS Toronto, Canada Mission, and married Becky, the love of his life, in the Seattle, Washington Temple. BJ and Becky have five children: Kaitlyn, Riley, Mollie, Jackson and Joseph. BJ was an outdoorsman, avid camper, hiker and a fly-fishing nut. He never met a stranger and always had room for one more around his campfire. He gave his family a love of nature, and taught his siblings to “respect their elders.”
Bryan’s incredible compassion for others led him to practice medicine. He received his master’s degree from the University of Utah as a physician’s assistant and took his talents to Tooele, Utah, as a physician’s assistant. He is beloved and revered by his patients, their families and his colleagues for his kind and loving care and his goofy sense of humor.
He was a rabid Utes fan, a lifelong Seattle Seahawks 12th man, an accomplished dominoes cheater, and he was proud to be Irish. But his true happiness was when he was surrounded by his family camping somewhere high in the mountains.
As an Eagle Scout, Bryan was always prepared. With just an ironing board for a stretcher, a basic first aid kit and his talent and love, there wasn’t an emergency he turned his back on — at the top of a mountain, a playground or in the ER.
He is survived by Becky and their five children; his parents, T. Bryan and Sharon Kay Ditty; four siblings and multiple in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, brothers-from-other mothers, friends and patients who love him and miss him.
Rest easy Big Brother. We love you dearly. Leave some fish for the rest of us, until we meet again.
