Obit Donald Paul KuesterDonald Paul Kuester returned to our Heavenly Father on Sept. 4, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 71. He was born on Sept. 18, 1944, in Tooele, Utah to Donald Henry and Elma Shields Kuester. He married Shauna Kay Bryan on Nov. 4, 1966, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they raised seven children. He later married Chriss Boucher on Nov. 8, 1997, in the Jordan River Temple. He spent his whole life in Pine Canyon and was proud to be a part of the tight-knit community. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two-year mission in Germany and a two-year service mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse. He held many positions from bishop to primary teacher and everything in between. He had a great love for the gospel. Service was a central aspect in his life and was demonstrated through his volunteer positions in the community as a fireman, water board member and countless acts of kindness. He was nominated and received the Good Samaritan award in 1978 from the State of Utah and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved spending time with his family and loved to share his interests of genealogy, singing and performing, farming, hunting, fishing and the cabin. He was extremely proud of his posterity and bragged about them often. He was always there to support his children and grandchildren in any activity or achievements they were involved in. He is survived by his wife Chriss; sisters Sherri (Ralph) Brown and Melody (Richard) Downey; six children: Brian Kuester, Kim (Troy) Taron, Lisa (Troy) Meyer, Staci (Matt) Peterson, Marci (Chris) Nichols and Rachel (Mark) Miner; four step-children: Mylo Boucher, Jesse (Traci) Boucher, Amber Boucher and Josh (Lindsie) Boucher; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Shauna Kay Bryan; son Kurtis Gene Kuester; son-in-law Lance Charles; grandson Dustin Paul Kuester and great-grandson Robert Gunnar Taron. We will miss him, his great stories and sense of humor, but there is no doubt that there is a great reunion occurring in heaven. A viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, from 7–9 p.m. at Tate Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at the Lakeview Ward building at 2045 Churchwood Drive in Pine Canyon, Utah. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.
