It is with broken hearts and great sorrow we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Sue was born on Nov. 19, 1954, to her loving parents Michael Ramos and Velma Ramos. She spread her wings and took her flight to heaven on June 24, 2016. She is survived by her children Richard Barney, Lisa Lafleur (Ned) Kimberly Looper (Jamie) Tammy Howell (Jeff) and Emil Lafleur; sister Verlin Gonzales (Mike); Michael Ramos Jr.; grandchildren Erika (Kota), Mary, Chris, Ethenna, Ricardo, Brandi, River, Austion, Chance, Marlena, Anna Lee, Jakie and Maddie and Shylynn. She is preceded in death by her husband Kent Barney; son Jerry Keith; her mother and father and sister Annetta. She was born in Vallejo, California. Her family moved to Tooele when she was a young child. When Sue married Kent, they moved to Grantsville and made it their home. Her entire life was dedicated to her family. She spent most of her working years in construction. She started out as a flagger and worked her way up to equipment operator. Her favorite job was driving the water wagon. Her favorite things to do included spending time with her grandchildren, riding her horse Saydee, fishing, crocheting, making jewelry, working in her flower garden and karaoke night with her friends. She loved watching scary movies, cooking for her family and spending time with her sisters and brothers. If I was asked to describe her in one word it would be “strength.” No matter what life threw at her she always would rise to the challenge. When someone would tell her “you can’t do that,” her favorite reply was “you just watch me” and she did. When she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and put on hospice she never let it break her. Even in her darkest hours of endless pain and suffering she showed tremendous strength and courage. We are very thankful for every day we had you in our lives. We are very grateful for every day, and every moment we had her in our lives. She will be missed more than words could ever say. Mom, you are our hero. We will love you always and forever. Rest in peace. Services will be held Friday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at the LDS church located at 1025 W. Utah Avenue, Tooele, Utah 84074.
