He also loved his job later in life as “Mr. Crossing Guard” for Central Elementary School. All the kids loved him and he made a very large impact on a lot of lives. Dad is survived by three of his four children, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three of his siblings, Darlene (Tom) Perkins; Gloria (Ted) Johnson and Bill Turpela (Turp). Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Lila, his daughter, Lori, and his grandsons Brent McNicol and Troy Madsen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1 at the LDS (3rd Ward) Chapel at 141 W. 200 North (Utah Avenue). Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Tate Mortuary and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
