Norma Jean Dunn Smith Anderson, our loving mother and grandmother, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 19, 2016.
Norma was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Springville, Utah to William Edward and Sarah Jane (Packard) Dunn. Norma was the youngest of 10 siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She married Karl Clive Smith in 1942. They later divorced and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by five sons: Stanley (Dana), Chris Smith, Donald Smith (Lori), Lorin Smith and Bob (Lisa) Smith. Norma later married Robert (Andy) Anderson, who preceded her in death in 2014. They had an infant son who died soon after birth. Norma and Andy adopted a daughter, Norma Jean Anderson (Jeannie), who died in 2012. Norma is blessed with numerous grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren. Norma worked as a nurse’s aide at the Tooele Valley old hospital and a forklift driver at the Tooele Army Depot. She was a caregiver to foster children and people who needed her loving care. Linda Powell is a foster daughter that was close to Norma’s heart. Norma loved to play the organ and sing to hymns and old songs. She was famous for her canned fruit, jams and rice pudding. We love you mom and grandma. “You are our sunshine.” Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Tate Mortuary, with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
