Jeanne Marie Peterson Hulet, 85, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2016. She is now golfing with her true love, Leonard Dean Hulet. Jeanne was born in Logan, Utah on June 9, 1930. She was the oldest of Hyrum Howard and Relia Otte Peterson’s seven children. She married her sweetheart, Dean Hulet, on June 1, 1956, and they were blessed with three children. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple prior to Dean’s death in 1975. She spent her early years on the family farm and learned the meaning of hard work. Jeanne graduated from Malad High School and later attended Utah State University. Jeanne and Dean made their first home in Dugway, Utah before moving to Tooele, Utah, where they made many friends. Jeanne loved playing bridge, reading books on history and politics and especially spending many hours on the golf course, winning numerous tournaments and two Stansbury Park Club Championships. Later in life, she found joy in cruising around the world. Jeanne retired from the Tooele School District as the bus garage secretary, followed by many years volunteering at St. Mark’s Hospital. Jeanne is survived by three brothers: Hyrum, Lynn and Ross; three children: Jeanette Hock (David), Michael Hulet and Christie Hulet-Higgins (Deven); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, her brothers Clark and Leo and her sister Diann Murray. A memorial gathering will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele, Utah on Wednesday, April 20 from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at the Tooele Cemetery.
