Thora L. Birch Novak Ferguson

Thora was born on Nov. 15, 1924, to Robert and Ellen Birch in Hoytsville, Utah. She was the ninth and last child. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She touched so many lives during her 91 years. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kindness, quick wit, mischievousness, and the ability to always make you feel special. She was married to John Novak on Jan. 8, 1943, in Evanston, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her husband and true love John, husband Jim Ferguson, parents and her eight siblings. She is survived by three children, Renae Wilcock (Layne), Chris Bullis (Steve) and John Novak (Judy); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at the Tooele City Cemetery on Wednesday, April 13 at 1 p.m.. A viewing prior to the graveside will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St. from 11:30-12:30 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Retirement Center in Taylorsville, and Encompass Home Care for the special loving and compassionate care Thora received.
