Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Brent Curry passed away peacefully at home on April 7 after a courageous battle with cancer. Brent was born May 13, 1941, to Arthur Seymour and Mary Jane (Griffith) Curry of Tooele, and was a member of the LDS Church. He recalled many early memories on his grandparents’ farms, and developed a deep, lifelong love of hunting and fishing afforded by Tooele County’s mountains and streams. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout before attending Tooele High School, where he was basketball team captain. After graduating in 1959, Brent enrolled at Utah State University and the University of Utah. He joined the Army National Guard in 1963, earning title of crew chief and receiving membership in the American Legion. Brent met his beautiful wife Vickey Boswell of Tooele in 1965, and they were married on Nov. 12. They welcomed their first child in 1967, and settled soon after in Tooele. Brent followed in the vocation of his father and uncles as a plumbing contractor, establishing Curry Plumbing and Heating. In 1976, Brent became a member of the Tooele City Volunteer Fire Department. He served as chief from 1994-95, during which Fire Station No. 2 was completed. Brent was an accomplished trap-shooter, and was a co-owner of the Tooele Gun Club. In addition to his hundreds of regional hunting and fishing trips, Brent was an avid tourist. He visited 47 U.S. states as well as England, France and Ireland, which he recalled fondly as his second home. Anyone visiting Brent and Vickey’s home could attest he was proud to be Irish. Brent is survived by his wife Vickey; daughters Holly, Brenda and Aime; sons Brett (Gabrielle) and Clint; grandchildren Stephanie (David), Brent, Raechal, Sara, Jaren, Madalyn, Bailey, Kaden, Keaton, Grace and Gannon; great-grandchildren Davin and Kayson; sister Jane (Jerry) Wilson and brother Arthur “Tuck” (Shauna). A Celebration of Life will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15 at the Elks Lodge, 61 N. Main Street in Tooele. Memorial services for Brent will be held Saturday, April 16 at 3 p.m. at Tooele Fire Station No. 2 — 82 N. 7th Street. Following, family members are welcome to a dinner held at the Skyline Ward, 777 Skyline Drive. Dad, “Courtney,” Grandpa, Uncle, Coach, Captain, Chief and Buddy, you will be missed.
