Lois C. Romero

Obit Lois C. RomeroLois C. Romero returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 24, 2016, in Tooele, Utah. She was born in Moroni, Utah to Hans and Fontella Christensen on Aug. 22, 1922. She married her sweetheart, Richard Romero, on May 29, 1941, in Salt Lake City; in 1984, their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Jordan River Temple. Together they had five children and built their home in Tooele, Utah. Lois was a wonderful mother and homemaker until her children were raised and then took a job at Tooele Army Depot until she retired at the age of 65. Lois loved to crochet, quilt and sew. Lois was a faithful member of the Tooele 17th Ward. She served in many roles, with home teaching being one of her favorites. She is survived by her children: Allen (Adele), Tooele; Larry (Sandy), Rio Vista, California and Susan Gray (Kay), Stockton, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 50+ great/great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Richard; daughter Sherrilyn; son Elvin; her father and mother; two sisters; three brothers; a granddaughter and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Tooele 17th LDS Ward Chapel, 132 N. 570 East, Tooele. A viewing will take place on Tuesday March 29, 2016, at Tate Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will be held in Moroni, Utah. We would like to extend a special thanks to the members of the Tooele 17th Ward, especially Sisters Luke, Hansen, and Leavitt; and Ellen and Patty of Canyon Hospice for the loving care they provided to our mother and grandmother.
