Cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma Billie Arliene Bailey Parker, 90, passed away peacefully in Lehi on March 20, 2016, from illness incident to old age. Arliene was born Dec. 13, 1925, to O. Victor Bailey and Mary Elinda Spencer Bailey in Monticello, Utah, the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City in 1944. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Mark’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Arliene married widowed Gail Ashton Parker on Nov. 3, 1950, becoming instant mom to his children, Wayne and Diane. The couple had a daughter, Charlynn. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1961. The family lived in Murray, Salt Lake City and Tooele. Arliene worked in several doctors’ offices. She wrote a novel, “Forever and Always.” She served in the LDS Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society organizations. Her greatest joy was her family. Arliene is survived by her son Wayne Parker (Linda) of Sandy, daughter Charlynn Anderson (Howard) of Cedar Fort, 12 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 63 years, Gail; sisters Verda Avery and Lois Elkins; daughter Diane Mecham and grandson Shawn Parker. The family would like to thank the staff at Abbington Manor Memory Care and Summit Home Health and Hospice for their kind and tender care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. till time of service. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
