On March 5, 2016 Dale J Stewart, our earthly hero, was received into the loving arms of his hero and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on August 24, 1948 in Salt Lake City, UT. He married his sweetheart, Sheila Ann Tripp, on June 8, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised 4 wonderful children (we say wonderful because we wrote this) in their hometown of Wendover, UT. Dale was an integral part of the Wendover community where he served in numerous church callings and community positions. He was a great leader and mentor who loved spending his time coaching and teaching the youth. He loved the outdoors and instilled that love into his children. He was able to spend his last days doing what he loved coaching the Wendover high School boys basketball team at state.
Dale lived a life full of faith and service. He took every opportunity to serve those around him. He was a giant of a man and a hero to his family. Family was the most important part of Dale’s life. His love for his wife, family and community was immeasurable. He had a love of our Savior and faith in the eternal plan that could never be shaken. We are comforted in our knowledge that families can be together forever and that he is now reunited with his beautiful bride and eternal companion.
He is survived by his children Kevin (Stephanie) Stewart, Daniel (Jackie) Stewart, Andrew (Lori) Stewart, Melissa (Jeff) Pehrson, his brothers Melvin and Gordon (DeAnna) Stewart , 11 grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, inlaws, outlaws and adopted children and grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by his wife (Sheila), parents (Marie and Larry Johnston), and brother (Garth).
Come celebrate his life with us on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the LDS church in Wendover, UT. Viewing will be from 9:30-11:30, funeral services at 12:00, followed by interment at the Wendover Cemetery.
