Obit Barbara ManzioneBarbara Manzione passed away Sept. 11, 2023, in Tooele, Utah. Barbara is the daughter of Gordon and Janine Manzione. Barbara is survived by her mother Janine; and siblings Janet (Rob) Johnson, Rodney (Sharleen), Elaine (Roger) Brady, Stephen (Jeanne), David (Maresa), Karen (Richard) Douglas, and Denise. She is the aunt and great-aunt to 67 nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Gordon, and her sister Bonnie Rae.

Barbara was born Jan. 4, 1957, in Cedar City, Utah. She lived in Cedar City, Panguitch, Beaver, Paragonah, St. George, Provo, and settled for good in Tooele, Utah. She attended Harris Elementary, Tooele Junior High, and graduated from Tooele High in 1975, “Go Buffs!” Barbara then worked for 20 years as a file clerk at the Tooele Army Depot.

Barbara loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary and nursery and sang in the choir in her ward. She served over 20 years in the Salt Lake Temple in the laundry. She attended the temple often and looked forward to attending the Deseret Peak Temple. Her greatest legacy is her love for her family and the temple. She was grateful to the many family and friends who served her and took her to the temple, institute classes, and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers activities throughout her life.

Barbara was a great example of a positive attitude despite challenges in her life. She had a brain tumor when she was seven years old. Removing the tumor caused paralysis on one side of her body. Barbara didn’t let this limit her activities and life – she never considered herself to be disabled. She was an example of ability, grit, independence, and a can-do attitude.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023.
