Obit Genevieve Veronica HobbGenevieve Veronica Hobb, known to her loved ones as GG, passed away June 6, 2023. Born in Miami, Florida, July 10, 1956, Genevieve lived a life full of courage, compassion, and spirit. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found solace in the words of the scriptures. One of her favorite verses was from the Book of Mormon, Mosiah 2:17, “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

Genevieve’s inspiring journey began in Dade County, Miami, before moving to Dallas, Texas, and ultimately settling in Tooele, Utah, in 2000. A talented and versatile woman, she worked as a security guard and earned her associate degree in warehouse security from Cornell University. Genevieve had a deep love for crime and mystery television shows, which fueled her passion for truth and honesty. She also enjoyed collecting seraphim angel figurines and coins, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Sidney Hobb, to whom she was happily married. The couple truly lived for each other, cherishing their Savior, Jesus Christ, and the finer things in life, such as Genevieve’s beautifully done nails and elegant wardrobe.

Genevieve’s spirited and loving nature will be greatly missed by her surviving family members, including her husband Sidney Hobb; sons Roger Oney and Scott Hobb; daughters Michelle Oney, Paige Rempe, Danielle Hackett, and Julia DeRenzy; sister Nora Monteleone; and brothers Robert, Michael, Johnny, and Charles Golden. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Golden, mother Nora Zindell, and brother William.

A viewing will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., at 1030 S. 900 West, Tooele, Utah, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. We encourage friends and family to share their favorite memories of Genevieve and upload photos to her memorial page at tatemortuary.com. Let us all remember the compassionate, courageous, and inspiring woman Genevieve Hobb was, and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
