Joan M. North of Tooele, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, of incidents due to age. She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, May 15, 1931, to Frost and Berniece Mitchell. She attended schools in Spanish Fork. She married Richard W. Hunter (deceased) June 10, 1948. Together they had four children. After moving to the Tooele area, she took a job at Tooele Army Depot as a mechanic, retiring in 1987. She married Donald North in 1972 (divorced).
She is survived by her children Sheila (Dennis) McKendrick, Vickie Stephens, Rick (Karla) Hunter; sister Peggy (Paul) Cragun; brothers David (Judy) Mitchell, Douglas (Snakebite) Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Mitchell, sister June Mitchell, son Michael W. Hunter, grandson Richard (Ricky) Hunter, and daughter-in-law Jayne Hunter.
We want to give our praise and gratitude to Harmony Hospice and all of the wonderful caregivers who attended to her needs. Also, a big thank you to her friends and neighbors at Remington Park for all their help and friendship.
There will be a visitation Monday, March 27, 2023, from 12 to 12:45 p.m., at Tate Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Tooele City Cemetery.
