Our loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister was reunited with open arms from her mother, father and Heavenly Father on July 26, 2015, in Grantsville, Utah.
She passed peacefully while in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Lorna was born on July 19, 1944, in Cedar City, Utah, to James and Lola Hollingshead. Lorna fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease for 14 years. She was nurtured with the most tender loving care from her soul mate, that she was lucky enough to call her husband, until the time of her death. Lorna held many careers during her working years with the most recent at Tooele Army Depot. Her favorite and most joyful time working was at Bryce Canyon National Park throughout high school. Her most cherished memories were associated with the outdoors. She ventured many road trips with her husband and family as she always had an adventurous spirit. Lorna was always the No. 1 fan and supporter of all her kids and grandchildren; whether it was local sporting events, traveling out of state for motocross or even out of the country for dance, she was there with a cheering smile and a heart full of kindness. Lorna was a gracious volunteer and spent years of dedication to the Tooele Civic League, The Benson Gristmill Pageant and the 2002 Winter Olympics. Lorna was also a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her everlasting soulmate, William “Bill” Hardman; her five children, Gary “Scott” Whitehouse (Jackie), Robert “Dean” Whitehouse (Michelle), Jennifer Allen (John), Ryan Whitehouse (Christy) and Colby Rinck (Zac); her two step-children, Terry Hardman (Stephanie) and Kim Hardman (John); her siblings, Marian Banks (Kay), Zola Baudino and Stan Hollingshead (Barbara); her 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lorna’s family would like to express a special thank you to her nurses for their loving care during her last few days here with us. An informal celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 1-4 p.m. at the LDS Church pavilion located at 550 E. Durfee, Grantsville, Utah. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.daltonhoopes.com.
