Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at his home in Grantsville, Utah. He was born in Lake Point, Utah, on Nov. 6, 1929, to Tony Castagno and Wavie Yates. He married his sweetheart, Norma Browne, on Aug. 26, 1950. Together they had three children, Kelly (Jodie) Castagno, Karen Castagno and Kristine Renneau (Jeff Gagnon). Claude worked at the Tooele Army Depot for 40 years, retiring on Aug. 2, 1993. He lived in Tooele County his entire life. He loved horses and anything to do with cowboy living. He enjoyed rodeos, watching boxing and the San Francisco 49ers. Claude loved being around his family. He especially loved spending time and playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Claude is survived by his children, brothers Wendall (Peg) and Doug (June), sister Ireta Lindway and sister-in-law Joan Castagno, along with 15 grandkids, 18 great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, grandson Damian Blue, six brothers and one sister. Claude is going to be missed by many, and loved by all. A viewing will be held Friday, July 30, 2015, at Didericksen Memorial, 87 W. Main St., Grantsville, Utah 84029, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be held at Grandpa Claude’s barn, 374 W. Apple St., Grantsville, Utah 84029, beginning with a viewing at 10 a.m. and services beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be at Grantsville Cemetery. The family is asking those attending to wear casual or western attire. We would like to give our sincere thanks to Jodie Castagno for taking excellent care of our dad and attending to his every need.
