Angela Lea Buchanan passed away in the early morning of June 30, 2015 at her home in Grantsville where she lived with her husband Donald and her sister Stephanie. While she had been ill for many years, her death was unexpected. She had overcome many setbacks and her loved ones assumed her immortality. Such is the illusion of earthly life. In addition to Donald and Stephanie, Angela is survived by daughters Cortney, Lauren and Katie. Each daughter has a child — Etta, Ewan and Gabe, respectively. She loved them all desperately and without bounds. Angela was born on Feb. 25, 1965 in Vernon, Texas. Life’s flow took her to many other places but Texas was her heritage. Texas politicians were beneath her contempt. She idolized Molly Ivins and Ann Richards. She left the state only after Houston’s humidity and pollution made her life unbearable. Angela’s sympathies were with those who receive less than they deserve. On these she bestowed the gifts of her attention, her entertainment and her art. She created beauty with abandon and without any regard to practical consequences. She sought attention relentlessly but for a noble purpose. She reflected her light on unnoticed objects of beauty and individuals of rare and unappreciated quality.
She did not abide by religion or science. She thought that when we die, we remain in the Universe in the form of some kind of imperceptible energy. Those of us who loved her pray that her intuition was correct.
