Michael “Stoney” Joseph Stonebraker

Obit Michael Joseph StonebrakerMichael “Stoney” Joseph Stonebraker passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 23, 2021, from complications associated with diabetes and heart failure. 

Mike was born June 9, 1942, in Salt Lake City, to Shirley Jean Silver and Howard Joseph Stonebraker. He was a lifelong resident of Tooele. He graduated from Tooele High School where he was on the swimming team and attended the University of Utah.  

Mike married Trudy Jaynes on April 19, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  

Mike retired from Tooele Army Depot after 40 years of service and retired from the Utah Army Air National Guard after 25 years of service as a helicopter pilot.  

Mike found joy in flying helicopters, shooting skeet, and riding his Harley-Davidson.  

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Steve (Theresa) and Christopher (Julia). He also has three grandchildren, Max, Claire, and Gweneth; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom, son Jeffrey, and granddaughter Emery. 

Per Mike’s wishes there will be a private graveside dedication at the Tooele City Cemetery that will be held at a later date.

We love you Dad, husband, grandfather, and friend. We know you’re on your way to being a whole different person and feeling a lot better!
