Jessie Albert Butler “Uncle Jesse”

Obit Jessie Albert Butler 1Beloved father, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend Jessie Albert Butler (Uncle Jesse) passed in peace Monday, May 17, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 74.  Obit Jessie Albert Butler 2Jessie was born Dec. 1, 1946, to Evelyn and Ellis (Bill) Butler in Grantsville, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School in 1965. Jesse was a lifelong Tooele County resident. Jesse married and later divorced Peggy Jean Baker. He married and later divorced Christine LaRae Jacobson. 

Jesse’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren whom he bragged about to anyone who would listen. He loved singing karaoke, playing the guitar, deer hunting, watching Broncos football, and hanging out at the family homestead “White Rock.” Jesse had a special relationship and was very proud of his extended family, especially his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He worked construction as a pipelayer all over Salt Lake and Tooele counties. Jesse worked at Chemical Lime Company for 25 years until he retired in the 2006. He loved to attend the “deer hunters’ ball” dancing and singing with his family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

He is survived by his brother Billy Butler; sister Geraldine Butler (Flanary); two sons Jesse A. Jr (Barbara) Butler of Magna, Utah, and Larry (April) Butler of Kennewick, Washington; nine grandchildren Cody (Carly), Kyler, KC (Shaylee), Maranda (Melvin), Alexander, Joshua, Benjamin, Evelyn, Abigail; and four great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by daughter Nancy Eileen Butler; his beloved parents; brothers Theodore Butler, Bruce E. Butler, Floyd J. Butler, Raddie L. Butler, Roger K. Butler; sisters Virginia, and Joyce L. Butler (Fawson); and nephew Kenneth J. Butler.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 11:30 a.m., at the Grantsville 13th Ward building, 428 S. Hale St., Grantsville, Utah. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery. Masks and social distancing is encouraged and recommended. Services entrusted with Didericksen Memorial.
