JoLynne (Jody) Ovard lost her hard-fought battle with squamous cell carcinoma cancer May 15, 2021. She passed away with her loving husband and family by her side. She was born March 7, 1967, in Tooele, Utah, to Verna and David LaBadie. She leaves behind her mother Verna, her sister Nancy (Chuck) Watkins, and her brother Dave (Brenda) LaBadie. She was preceded in death by her father David LaBadie.
Jody married William (Bill) Long and had four sons. Jody will be missed by her sons and daughters Dustin (Holly) Long, Nicholas Long (Madisen), Brandon (Lindzee) Long, Chistoper Long (Yancy). After their divorce, Jody met and fell in love with DeVon (Dee) Ovard. They were married July 22, 2015. This marriage brought three daughters: Alisha (Mike) Messer, Emily Ovard, Rachael (Nic) Catt, and one more son Drew Ovard (Miranda). Jody also has a bonus daughter, Mallory Trujillo. Jody’s pride and joy are her 10 grandchildren. She loved being a grandma. She has several nieces and nephews, an aunt, uncle, and brothers-in-law. She will also be missed by her fur babies Shadow, Jeff, and Tiger, all girls.
Jody had many friends and touched many people’s lives just by being “Jody.” She will always be remembered either by snowflakes, waterfalls, Yellowstone Park, a cloudy stormy day, family dinners, Halloween, scary movies, her love of Jack Skellington and Sally, and her sister’s all-time favorite of her eating a piece of cake and drinking a Corona at their Friday night dinners.
Jody always said Dee was the love of her life and they would be together forever, “Because they were simply meant to be.”
You’re in the arms of the angel… fly away… guard us from above.
The family wants to thank Harmony Hospice for their care and compassion.
