Our beloved Nancy Jean (Smith) Beddoes passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, April 28, 2021, after a long and bravely fought battle with illness. She was born Aug. 4, 1961, to Lorin (Smitty) Smith and Helen (Terry) Smith. The youngest of five children, Rick (Colleen) Smith, Sherry (Bill) Fitzgerald, Danny (Connie) Smith, Carl Smith, she grew up tough and very loved by all.
Raised in her Aunt Lori’s home for several years on Vine St., she made many fond memories and even some lifelong friends. She graduated from Tooele Alternative and shortly after she started to work with her sister Sherry at the Tooele Army Depot. At the young age of only 19 she very bravely became a single parent to daughter Roxie. Right away the two became inseparable. She was the best mom, always.
At the age of 20 she found and fell in love with her soulmate, Burke Beddoes. The two were married for 38 years. As a family they enjoyed fishing, camping, going to Jazz games, trips to Montana, and most recently Flaming Gorge. She loved it. “Everything was beautiful,” she kept saying. Nancy, aka The Liquor Store Lady, worked for the state of Utah for 32 years, where she also retired.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Tate Mortuary, with a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and the funeral at 1 p.m. A graveside service at Tooele Cemetery. Please dress comfortable; wear your favorite tie-dye.
Nancy is survived by her husband Burke; daughter Roxie; grandsons Randy (Hailey) and Franke; great-granddaughter Marley; her brothers Rick, Danny and Carl; and her much loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by parents Lorin and Helen, sister Sherry, and her beloved nephew Jed, and many fur babies.
A special thank you goes to all the lovely ladies at Dr. Strinbergs office. You took great care of her and she loved each of you.
