Obit Esther Elizabeth Suess GoshornEsther Elizabeth Suess Goshorn, age 96, our angel, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, returned home to her heavenly father on May 21 of natural causes. Esther was born Sept. 14, 1918 in Centerville, Kansas to Elizabeth Ann Huxtable Suess and Phillip August Martin Suess. She grew up on a Kansas farm, later moving to Colorado during the dust bowl years. Esther met and married the love of her life, Clarence Edward Goshorn, in 1944. They lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado until Clarence joined the Army and served in WWII. Life was an adventure serving time in Japan, Germany and France. They were lucky enough to visit England, the home country of Esther’s mother, and got to know distant relatives. Esther was blessed with two sons and two daughters. With Clarence’s retirement, the family moved back to Colorado Springs, Colorado near Esther’s mother and two brothers. Esther enjoyed many pursuits, but her first priority was always her family. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and three brothers, Lewis, Ernest and Herman. She is survived by her children, Richard Goshorn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Linda (Rod) Shaffer of Tooele, Utah; Ken Goshorn of Springdale, Arkansas; Marilee (Bill) Bennett of Hugo, Colorado; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
