Deanna (Nana) Dawn Lougy, born June 9, 1972, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 7, 2020.

She was a bright ray of sunshine and beloved by all who knew her. A daughter, sister, Aunt Nana and friend. She was kind, giving and full of life; she would give anything to anyone in need and enjoyed doing so anonymously. She enjoyed photography, drawing, painting, making crafts and jewelry. She loved spending time with her family, going on adventures and traveling. She served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the Billings Montana Mission, and has a strong testimony of the gospel.

Deanna graduated with an associate’s degree from LDS Business College and a bachelor’s degree in history and family studies from Weber State University and had the opportunity to travel abroad to Europe and the United Kingdom as part of her studies.

Deanna loved children and spent many years working with them. She was loved by those she taught, guided, and nannied. She spent her life in service and enjoyed activities and play dates with her nephews and nieces.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Lynne and Dennis Lougy. She is survived by her siblings Karen Lougy, Bryan (Nancy) Lougy, Sherri (Sifa) Mahe, Matt (Wendi) Lougy, and April (Todd) Larsen; plus 17 nephews and nieces; five great-nephews and great-nieces; and “her boys” John, Sam, and Jacob Gilbert; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Current circumstances as they are, burial will be at the Tooele City Cemetary, Tuesday, May 12, 2020. A small private graveside service will be attended only by immediate family. Anyone is welcome to stop by the cemetery at any time to pay last respects. Please remember to adhere to current social guidelines. We hope to organize a celebration of life for Deanna and Dennis at a later date. Thank you to all who have contributed to her GoFundMe account and who have sent your thoughts and prayers. We love you all.
