Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away Dec. 25, 2019. Peg was born in Huron, South Dakota, on Nov. 23, 1924, to the late William and Nora Walsh. She had eight siblings.
On May 3, 1952, she married William E. (Bill) Wilson and they had five children: Maureen (Lee) Slusher, Mary (Hank) Pannunzio, Mike (Marla) Wilson, Michele (Paul) McNichol, and Marna (Dave) Sturgeon. Peg had 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Peg was very involved in her church, St. Marguerite of Tooele, playing the organ in the original church, and she played the piano for all of us at home. She was very active in the Catholic Ladies Guild and was selected Catholic Woman of the Year for St. Marguerite in 1998.
Peg graduated from nursing school in Mitchell, South Dakota, and worked as a surgical nurse in Tacoma, Washington. She worked as an R.N. at Oquirrh Hills, Tooele Nursing Home, the Tooele Clinic, and for the Tooele County Health Department, and during that time continued her education at the University of Utah.
Our mother loved her family unconditionally and her kindness and caring was felt by all. Her sewing, crafting, gardening, baking and cooking skills will always be remembered. She took great joy in cooking and baking with her grandchildren.
She was always up for an outing or adventure… parasailing, rafting, snorkeling in the Bahamas, fishing trips to Lake Powell, Junction and Fish Lake, beach trips to Oregon and Cape Cod, and other trips over the years while spending time with her family.
She was the heart of our family, a loving shoulder to lean on. She was the light of our lives and we were hers.
We love and miss you Mom, and are so blessed to have had you for so long.
Our mother so deserved a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life, but would be the first to understand the situation in our world today, and would only want for everyone’s safety.
