Robert Stephen (Bob) McGlamery, 91, a resident of Grantsville, passed away Wednesday evening, April 24, 2019, of natural causes. He was born May 1, 1927, in Climax, Decatur, Georgia, to LeRoy and Lula Griffin McGlamery. His family moved to Florida where he grew up working on the farm with his father.
Bob served with honor in both the Second World War and the Korean War. He married Barbara Luckham, Feb. 2, 1952, in Rochester, New York, and they had three children, David, Dan and Patti. The marriage ended in divorce. He later married Louraine Shodeen, June 11, 1976, in Sacramento, California. She had five children by a previous marriage, Suzanne, Robert, Kathleen, Derek and Michael. That marriage also ended in divorce. June 5, 2001, Bob married Carol Dawn Warner of Grantsville. Bob supported his family as a truck driver and retired in 1992. Bob and his wife Carol Dawn served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2002. Bob loved to garden and serve in the temple.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carol Dawn; his sister, Martha Ann Cox; and children, David McGlamery, Patti Bailey, Suzanne Zane, Kathleen Smith and Derek Arthers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m., in the Grantsville 10th Ward, 81 N. Church St. Visitations will be held Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the church. Burial will follow in the Camp Williams Cemetery with military honors.
