W. Kent Lowry, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019. Kent was born Jan. 13, 1935. He was the son of Abner Burton and Mary Lunette Black Lowry. He married his eternal sweetheart Gaye Walton in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1957.
Kent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life, including serving a mission to the west central states. His quiet strength and testimony of the gospel were a lifelong example to his family. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Kent enjoyed camping, boating, golfing, teasing the grandkids and spending time with his family. He will be forever loved and missed.
Kent is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gaye; children, Mike (Tena) Lowry, Kim (Ronald) Romero, Steve (Kristi) Lowry, Paul (Tamara) Lowry, Karen (Mike) Holman; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred (Karla) Lowry, Anne Wexels; and sisters-in-law, Gayle (Roger) England and Verneal Lowry. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Samuel and Alice Walton; brother, Wayne Lowry; and sister, Lois Lowry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019, at the 14th Ward Building, 180 S. Coleman St., Tooele, Utah, at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from noon to 1:45 p.m. Following the funeral military honors and interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.
