Obit Robert Leslie WarrenRobert Leslie Warren, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in Tooele, Utah.

Robert was born Aug. 31, 1937, to Joseph and Dorothy Warren. He was born and raised in Butte, Montana. He met and married his soul mate, Nancy Lee Foote, on April 19, 1959. They were married for an amazing 59 years. Together, they had three children.

Robert received an honorable discharge upon his release from the Navy Reserve.

He started working in the Butte mines as a diamond drill helper at 19 years of age. He continued as a heavy equipment operator for Anaconda Company in various positions. He was most proud of being the holder of a 1st class hoisting engineer license, which took many years of apprenticeship and testing.

In 1978, they moved to Tooele where he worked for Tyson Mining Company and Anaconda Company as a hoisting engineer. He later worked for both Amax and Dugway Baker Area until his retirement.

Some of his accomplishments include volunteer fireman, founder of the Home School Association of Butte, worked with the Boy Scouts of America and was a church youth leader for the Congregational Church in Butte, Mt.

Bob took enjoyment in his garden and being a handyman. He loved doing woodwork and working in his garage. His greatest joy was his family. He loved and lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his little dog, Lily.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Karl (Starla) Warren of Hudson, Wisconsin; daughters, Barbara (Kelly) Davis and Jodi (Chris) Jensen, both of Tooele, Utah; grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Detweller of Stansbury Park and Mike (Melissa) Davis of Tooele, Utah; great- grandchildren, Elle, Camden and Harper of Stansbury Park; and nephews, Robert, Michael and Brian (Ella) Warren, all of California.

Robert’s attitude in life was: “I’ve had a great life. I’ve been a mile underground, been on a battleship on the ocean, fought forest fires and best of all, I raised a great family! What else would I need.”

A memorial service will be held at the Tooele Springs Calvary Chapel, 47 N. Main Street, Tooele, Utah, on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 12–1 p.m., followed by a graveside service for family and close friends.
