Charles I. Walters passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, at the University of Utah Medical Center after an accident at home. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.
Charles was born on April 14, 1938, to Leander and Estaline Walters in Calhoun, Louisiana. He served in the United States Army from 1957-60. While stationed at Dugway, Utah, he met his future wife, Carolyn M. Gowans. They were married on Sept. 6, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple. Charles retired from Tooele Army Depot in 1993.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn; children, Max (Lauren), Karen (John) and Scott (Kim); nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; brothers, Manuel (Sue) and Milton (Vancy); sister, Brenda (Ken); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie.
Graveside services will be held at Tooele City Cemetery on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 11 a.m.
